Superb Laptop (Dell Inspiron 4000)

Advantages: Large Screen, Good Battery, Great Graphics Card

Disadvantages: Tempory Screen Problem, Smallish Hard disk, not Expensive but not cheap

Intro:
Over the past 3 years I have owned 3 laptops, this being the third, and this is the first one I am truely satisfied with. (I use my laptop at work constantly and previous to completly died within a year)

Good Points:
One of the first things one notices about this laptop is the high quality big screen. This is 14.1 Inches which is the visible area of a 15Inch monitor and can go up to a resolution of 1400 x 1024 which is impressive for even a desktop monitor. The graphics card is excellent for a laptop (geforce 2 32MB with geforce 4 coming soon.)This is enough to run almost any game with very good graphics. Thirdly the battery last forever especially if one gets a second one (with two batteries typically last 8 - 12 hours) and the second battery is hot swapable with the DVD drive which is also excellent. Finally as with all dell computers is the amazing technical support which can help with anything and everything.

Bad Points:
If one squishes the laptop a patch appears on the screen which last about 24 hours but no prerminant damage is done. The hard disk is typically quite small at 10GB allthough upgrades are available.

Points of Note:
For anyone buying this laptop I would definately recommend buying a second battery, it is envaluable even if you think you will have your laptop plugged in most of the time. Make sure you look at the preinstalled software as it is very good and allows you to customise many aspects of your computer especially the synaptics track pad program.

Conclusion:
A great laptop for work and games at an affordable price. Very good quality and easy to use.
