have recently purchased a top of the range pc from dell computers. not only is the actual laptop awesome but the service i received from dell themselves was awesome. many uk companies have a lot to learn and they should be doing that form dell.

i purchased a top of the range laptop pc. the 8000 series Inspiron. i purchased this direct from the www.dell.co.uk website. the process was easy and trouble free.

firstly the dell website is very easy to navigate. it holds all the information you could ever want to know before purchasing from them, specifications, information about software, advice on what may be best for you, the list goes on.

once you have a rough idea of what you want you are then able to choose a base package from three main price areas, the ?affordable (lower speed processors, less fancy gizmos), ?advanced value (high speed processors but less ram, hard drive space, middle range multimedia systems)? and the ?cutting edge (top of the range processors, plenty hard drive space. on choosing your base model you click on the ?configure? button and are taken to a very easy to use form where you can add options to your base model or upgrade components. the choice available is great. you can tailor the pc to your own needs in less than 5 minutes. upgrades available include processors, ram, hard drives, optical drives (dvd, cr-rw etc), extra storage devices, monitors, sound cards, video cards, software, the list goes on. at each stage you are told exactly how much the item will be and you are given a running total.

on completion of the form you are taken to the payment options, you can pay by credit or debit card online or chose one of dell?s finance options. again the forms are easy to fill out and take no time at all. from start to finish you could have bought a new pc in under 15 minutes with no salesman calling or trying to make you buy things you don?t want.

on completion of your order you receive
a co

nfirmation by email, almost immediately, and confirmation by post. After purchasing your PC online the after sales service is second to none. Dell will contact you within about 2 working days with a delivery date. I could have had my order delivered within 3 days of ordering, however this was not convenient to me and they fit delivery around me. This a rare treat these days!

On receiving my order (bang on time!) the PC is very easy to setup (you can pay a little extra and have someone set it up for you); everything is colour coded and included is a very neat quick setup guide in poster form. On setting up and plugging in (this took less than 5 minutes) I switched on and after a very brief setup procedure (type in your name, address etc. probably for the Microsoft licences etc.) I was fully operational. This far the PC had been absolutely marvellous, it seems very well built and I have heard very reliable (I shall update if anything goes wrong at any stage).

All in all a very easy, stress free way of buying a PC can?t recommend Dell enough.
