Dell was a company i tried to stay away from. I had heard some bad things about their customer service. After my beloved PC finally gave its last, shuddering blue screen of death, a-shopping i did go, albeit reluctantly. I needed something portable, I knew i was going to be moving around a lot, but I also needed to play games and rely on it to do everything i could do with my pc. I turned to Dell finally because they were the only company that could offer the hardware I needed at anything even approaching a sensible price. I was pleasantly surprised. Their sales website was easy to use and loaded fast. I havent yet had cause to call about any ... Read the complete review

After many years of using a standard computer, I decided for ease of use and sever lack of space in the house it was time to turn to a laptop instead of buying a new house! Therefore, my search started. For something that not only I could use for college and work but also a machine that I could run DVD's and CD's without comprising the image and sounds. After going through numerous shops and finding nothing a. that really jumped out at me and b. they did not quite have the packages I wanted so I went on line to Dell. After major searching within my price bracket, I brought the Dell Inspiron 9400 Multi Media with Media Direct. Although with Dell you ... Read the complete review

The company I currently work for has always used Dell as the supplier for all its IT needs, which is actually why i had always previously avoided using Dell for my personal equipment. They were always saying that the Customer Service was pretty shoddy, which should have been enough for me - if they can't look after big business, they probably wont look after me. The Dell inspiron caught my eye though, mainly because i really wanted a 17" screen to watch DVD's when i travelled arounf the country and i needed quick and easy access to wireless networks when on the road, or in hotels. The speed has been more than adequate for my needs, ... Read the complete review

As a photographer and journalist, I use laptops professionally. My Sony Vaio was getting a little aged and my backup Advent became history in no time. But the Dell Inspiron 9400 I've now been using for nearly two years has been nothing short of excellent. The 17" screen is great for viewing and editing images and the Centrino Duo processor is fast enough to handle even massice, RAW images. There's no denying the 9400 is a quality product and mine has literally been everywhere with me, to the 'States, Holland, Germany, France and all round the UK. The aftersales service is also terrific. Following a major, post-virus crash, Dell sent me CD Roms to ... Read the complete review

Got this laptop (with higher specs as I customized it on the Dell website) 2 years ago and it still runs like a charm, though with a few issues here and there. The difference in specs were: - Core Duo 2.16 GHz - 2GB of RAM - NVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS (256MB) To start off, its massive, huge screen, thus huge weight - not ideal to carry around, but I would say just as good as a desktop computer but taking less space. In terms of specs, 2 years on it can still run the latest games and work applications with its Core Duo allowing you to run other stuff in the background as well. Overall, I had several issues with it ... Read the complete review
