Advantages: Easy To Use, Neat and Smart, Brilliantly high tech

Disadvantages: You can't live without it!!!, Quite heavy

As part of my inheritance I wqas bought a Dell Inspiron 1100. At first I didn't see the need in it as I already had two computers, but the Dell Inspiron 1100 Changed My Life!

Firstly, it's programmed under Windows XP, making it easy to use with an air of freshness only given by Microsoft.

Secondly, there's the keyboard, which is designed for even the heaviest of hands and, compared with a normal PC keyboard, seems like a breath of fresh air.

Thirdly, there is a built in mouse. When I saw it I dreaded using it and was prepared to buy a seperate mouse. Now though, I hate the thought of actually using a mouse. It is easy to use, much more sensitive and glides to the correct position with the movement of one, two or even all of your fingers!

Finally, with a built in DVD-RW and CD-RW I can edit and create files on DVD and CD and watch DVDs and CDs wherever I like.

You may be thinking, but I don't need one, but here's something to pursuade you:
1. You can use the Internet anywhere you see a phone port/plug/
2. You can watch DVDs wherever you like.
3. You can listen to CDs with the most amazing sound quality wherever you like.
4. With a neat carry case, this is certainly the gadget of the year.
5. The previous Inspiron model won the Which Laptop of the year, so isn't this one bound to be better!!!
6. Easy to use for even the most novice computer phobic!

So Buy Today!

Ah! Enthusiasm.

I once had a Dell Latitude and it sold me completely on the whole laptop thing. My next purchase is likely to be a Dell.

Thanks for reminding me what I had started to take for granted.

I can second this: about five of my friends have Dell Inspirons and they're all superb, my only gripe would be that they're a bit on the big and heavy side. But then, with the amount of power and features packed into them, this becomes less and less of an issue.

Good op :-)
