My review is specifically about the Dell Inspiron 8600, a laptop which I have replaced with a new one, but did use for a couple of years. It's relatively old (for a laptop) meaning you can probably pick one up quite cheaply from eBay, computer fairs or local computer shops. The laptop itself was high-end back in the day, but now seems ... Read the complete review

We bought a Dell Inspiron 5160 through a deal at my father's workplace. For about the first couple of months it was fine, save for the odd freeze and squabble. Now 2 years or so later, the fans run ALL the time, so that you can't even hear the tele over it. The laptop itself grows scarily hot, with software telling us it reaches 80'c ... I bought this laptop around 8 months ago. I only wanted a basic laptop with pretty good features. This is exactly what I wanted I own a Dell Inspiron 1300. Includes windows service pack 2. It has been 2 years since I purchased the Inspiron 510m, further advances have been made with notebook computers such as the recent introduction of Intel core duo processors and wireless G standard. This review should still be of some help for anyone considering buying the Inspiron 510m second hand or reduced or looking for similar ... Read the complete review

I have spoken to a lot of people about Dell computers (I am now on my third, and they all still work), and they seem to fall into two camps: the lovers and the haters. Now, I read the other review on this site from an expert, and I am not an expert, but I use the computer for lots of bits and pieces, and lug it with me when I travel now. The ... When I originally looked at the Dell Inspiron last March I was pleased, yet not blown away. The model was a solid, original product at a competitive price. However Dell's upgrade to that model, the Inspiron 6400, is most definitely aimed at the entertainment line of the market. The 'machine' is extremely accessible to people of all ... If you've recently seen a Dell advert for a laptop at a ludicrously low price, and let's face it - who hasn't - the chances are it's the Inspiron 1300 that's being plugged. Here I intend to concentrate solely on the hardware and general usability of this model. I do not intend to review Dell the company beyond saying that delivery for the laptop ... This particular laptop replaces a previous Dell Inspiron which I had for three years which beceme a little too slow and a little out of date for my purpose. Not on any occasion did I have any trouble whatsoever. The selection of the 510m was therefore a choice wisely made after a detailed research of all laptops. The 510m ... Read the complete review

Bought this laptop about 9 months ago, was a dream for the first 2 months. Then it decided to stop working, blue screens all the time. Sent it back, where they decided that the CPU had overheated and the fans weren't coming on properly. I got it back and it wasn't the same, windows would take ages to book up and shut down, loads of issues. Also ... Read the complete review

The mobile technology of centrino is proably one of the most essential feature one should look for when buying a laptop now. Wireless technology is taking over and this model just suits it all. The Dell Inspiron 8600... It has a exceptional 17 inch screen which makes it exceptionally big and bulky for a laptop. I am a hardcore ... Read the complete review

The Inspiron 8500 is a visually striking notebook. It is shipped in one of five colours through the use of interchangeable snap-on covers. My model is the Venice Blue version, whose cover, keyboard and touchpad inlays are blue. In addition to the two standard touchpad buttons, there are two more just below the keyboard, with four CD control keys ... Read the complete review

The laptop spec is great and good value. However, we bought two and one quickly developed a fault - rebooting regularly when running on battery. The only way to get to someone is via the web page and email, and they make you go through hoops to get to the contact section. Once in contact, average response to each email is 2-3 ... As part of my inheritance I wqas bought a Dell Inspiron 1100. At first I didn't see the need in it as I already had two computers, but the Dell Inspiron 1100 Changed My Life! Firstly, it's programmed under Windows XP, making it easy to use with an air of freshness only given by Microsoft. Secondly, there's the ... Read the complete review
