Reliable old workhorse (Dell Latitude D505)

I know little about computers so cannot give any technical details or views on the "spec" of this laptop but am happy to give my honest opinion of what it is like as a user. I have had this model for over 4 years now which I guess is pretty impressive. It is in daily use for approximately 3-4 hours at a time. During this time I have had to have the keyboard replaced twice due to keys sticking and then falling off. How ever replacements from e bay have always been easy to find. A more worrying problem is that recently the connection between the power lead and the laptop has developed a fault and needs considerable manoeuvring in the socket to maintain a power source. As a result the laptop is no longer portable which kind of defeats the object!

However, these problems aside I feel that the length of time that I have had the laptop has demonstrated a quality and robust machine (did I mention that it is used by my children as well!!). I would buy Dell again. The service has been good when needed, any parts required have been easy to obtain and it has survived being taken out and about regularly. I find the layout easy to deal with, can use the integral mouse without any problems and screen clear and good value.

Although I am sure that this model is now well and truly obsolete it will be to Dell I turn again for a replacement.
