I've had this laptop for over 3 years and it has been an absolute workhorse, working when other laptops would have given up the ghost and died. In all that time all I have done is increase its standard 512mb RAM to 2mb RAM to get some more speed ito run my applications. This laptop is part of the well respected Dell Latitude family. It has a good specification, although showing its age a little when compared with more recent models. Apart from it being older the D505 is still a competent workhorse of a laptop providing good value if purchased second hand. The laptop runs quiet and can accomplish most office tasks ... In most DELL products, the problem is breaking (separation) of LSD panel with the main body at the attachment joints(seen in most dell laptops used at a university).
