laptops, the specs and prices. God there is a lot out there. It took me about 2 weeks to make up my mind and I deceided to go for a Dell . It was a brond name that I reconised and that I have had dealing with before in the way of a desktop. So now what model? Well this was a different kettle of fish, there are so many different models that it is almost impossable to make a choice. I ended up putting a pencil on to a piece of paper with all the models on it and so it was the C610 I bought. I was very inpressed with the laptop when I got it home, the screen was clear and the laptop was very quick. Looking back now some 12 months later I feel that I made the right choice ...

feel it pointless as they have a good website and all the little bits (when working) perform well. From my experience the most important purchase with a Dell laptop is the support package, for good and bad reasons. BAD The laptops are not what I would call reliable. In fact I will just list the problems I have had some of these in very high numbers. Faulty: Hard Drives, System Boards, Displays, Keyboards, PCMCIA slots, Battery’s, Memory, Diskette/CD-ROM drives, Loose Processors. Clip that holds the lid shut. My collegues and myself have reported similar troubles of keys failing to work, the infra red lens breaking off, mouse buttons breaking and the mouse sometimes moves itself.
