Advantages: Fast, fun and attractive
Disadvantages: Problems with the intergrated webcam
The Dell Studio range is a laptop and desktop range offered to the mass consumer market. It is a step up from their 'Inspiron' range.
What's better about it over the Inspiron?
------------------------------------------------- ---
Mostly slot-loading optical drives, media keys, more cover design options, faster processor options, HDMI and eSATA ports, LED-backlit screens, and backlit keyboards. Generally a more aesthetically pleasing experience whilst using the laptop.
Apperance
-------------
Nice to get them in a range of colours on the front. I chose Ruby Red, an attractive warm shade of red. The feeling of the front is matte texture with the silver dell logo in the middle, inside the keyboard is black with silver round the rest of the laptop and the monitor is glass. The most attractive aspect is the light up light buttons above the keyboard and the cd drive which works like a nintendo wii disk drive in the way that the discs slide in and out, free of a tray.

Personal Experience
---------------------
I was bought this laptop as a christmas present as i needed a reliable yet inexpensive laptop as i am a student. I must say that dell really has made an excellent product with the studio 15 range. Though it is an extra amount of money to choose the colour, they are fun and easy to use. The only complaint I have is the integrated webcam often doesnt work, and when i open the software it tells me to plug in the webcam which is fitted inside the laptop! I get the feeling through reading the forums that this is a common problem. Other than that, I have had no other qualms. It is very fast, has many useful tools on it and the dell dock makes it easy to use. I would thouroughly reccomend this item! The lit up power cord is also useful when trying to navigate through my pile of black cords under my desk too! The display is bright and attractive.
