Well what can i say!!!!!

I love this machine, unlike the other reviewer i will talk about the machine listed above ( the other guy was reviewing the vostro 1000 not the 1500 as the 1000 was the AMD version ).

First lets start with the weight, this is not a light laptop but this is not a bad thing in the case of this machine, the Vostro 1500 comes with a magnisium alloy chassis, this machine is a work notebook and as such the alloy chassis is made heavier and stronger to provide durability in the workplace, also some people may have noticed that alot of laptops come with some pretty bad keyboard flex ( in other words, when 1 key is pressed lots of the surrounding keyboard FLEX's up and down trampoline style ) this can be frustrating and lead to messy work when compiling word docs or emails. Again this is another reason for the alloy chassis. Typing on this baby is like typing on rock, for those that type lots for work and pleasure, i can strongly recomend this machine for that among many other reasons.

Secondly this machine was able to be configured and built with the Geforce 8600 GT graphics card ( GPU ). This is a good thing, the 8600 is a mid range GPU capable of playing all games and most with fairly decent level settings, also most machines released at the same time with this card were atleast £300 more, even for the cheapest model and from a far inferior manufacturer, so supplying this card made the machine very desirable for gamers.

Thirdly the device is compatible with Vista and XP. If you go to Dells website you will see they list drivers for both OS's. So this appealed to me again as my wife is a fan of XP and try as i might i can not get her onto Vista at this time.

Then we have Dells Vostro business support, well unlike the poor support for their flagship XPS systems the Vostro support ( being a business support ) is absolutly fantastic, second to none and so refreshing. If you have a problem with this machine they will get and engineer to your door next business day... WOW !!!!!

As for the processing speed of machine with regaurd to multi tasking, this depends on CPU, i went for a T7500 CPU for my wife, i find the machine flies with this and is capable of handleing anything i or my wife throw at it.

The mother board is capable of supporting 4 GB of RAM which is nice, also the machine came with Bluetooth and a 2 megapixle web cam. Most other machines came with a 1.3 mega pixle web cam, making the images on this very clear and sharp when compared to most.

The laptop comes with another little gem and that is, it comes with a splash protection plate underneath the keyboard in case of liquid spillages

Summary: Built to last, can take abuse, nothing will beat this when comparing spec and price
