I have had this laptop for 5 years now and it has run and survived me through uni and beyond.
The other reviewer must have just had bad luck as over all I have had a very positive experience with this laptop.
+For the time the screen is fantastic, large and brilliant quality. Even now playing 1080p movies is has not failed. I got it to watch movies/tv mainly and it has performed well
+Large memory, you get about 450GB total memory. As it is only now with laptops with 1TB and more becoming more common place that is seems low. But this has been out for years.
+Overall really easy to use, I have had no melt downs to cause serious issues just a few problems that are mentioned in the cons.
-Its large size does not make it easily transportable and people will comment every two seconds how big the laptop is.
- Its great for movies/shows, Word and Excel but not amazing for gaming. It plays low graphic required games like older Total War or Civilization. But if the game is pushing the requirements it will lag or crash. Similarly some games will just overwork the computer being too memory intensive and cause a crash.
-After a good 2 years off heavy use the laptop battery is now non-existent. It has to be connected to the mains continuously, which is more annoying than a deal breaker. At best it has 3-4 hours life when it was running properly but the large screen definitely drinks the juice.
So there are now lighter, faster and larger memory laptops out there. But at the time the specs for the laptop were great, even now the screen is a specialty. I would definitely recommend this laptop and would consider Fujitsu laptops in the future.
Buy this computer at your own risk! This computer can't open simple JPEG files or play basic video without the whole thing threatening to go into melt down. Under warranty or not, Fujitsu WILL refuse to acknowledge they used inferior components which aren't fit for purpose. For example, they claimed the overheating problem was caused by someone hacking into the computer and made me re-install the operating system twice. When they finally acknowledged it was a hardware problem, they insisted there was nothing they could do as it was out of warranty. It also appears overheating is a general problem with the Li series so do yourself ahuge favour!
