An entry level laptop. Cheap in price shows. Tinny sound, only one speaker. But worst of all, the fan comes on and stays on nearly the whole time - even just browsing the internet. The laptop certainly doesnt get very hot. Fujitsu support were useless. Again, I put it down to cheap processor (celeron M) and cheap parts. Wish I'd read the reviews about the noisy fan before I purchased it. On that basis alone I wouldnt recommend this machine, nor will I ever go for a Fujitsu again. If you are deaf, or dont mind a whirring fan going all the time, then this basic laptop will do a basic job, but don't expect anything more. Battery life is just under 1 hour -pathetic! The only plus that I can see is that the CrystalClear screen can still be seen clearly in bright sunlight.

      Rubbish, Buy something else!

We've had one of these for a number of years now and find it pretty awful. It takes a long time to load up and despite being treated with respect had started to fall apart! The black plastic that covers the hinges on the monitor has broken off. The catch you use to open it is also useless and has broken off. The screen is quite clear and it's useful having the Wireless card in it. It also holds its charge quite well (last about 50 minutes) However, ours seems to overheat all the time (presumably because the fan has packed up) and the damn thing turns itself off when you're in the middle of something. We dont use it for anything too high tech, we only do a couple of hours surfing on it, but for gaming, I would imagine it would be a total nightmare. There's a lot better laptops on the market than this one.

My daughter got this laptop for christmas 2 years ago and she has rarely been on it instead she uses mine as hers the Fujitsu is very slow to start and cannot load any games as it makes it even slower. I would not recommend purchasing this laptop there are better products on the market.

Not worth the money they cost to make, Constantly having problems with them and the customer service from Fujitsu-Siemens is almost none existant, Firstly Finding the Fan covered up with Foil and plastic so that it wouldn't work correctly, Secondly on the fan being covered up They deny that this is done to make sure that the laptop fails shortly after the warrenty is up.I have had two of these laptops and both of the same times the exact same problems have come up, and i bought the two of them from different stores.

A great budget office PC with the flexibility of a laptop

This is a great laptop if youre just after something budget for a student or to do office work. It helps if you know a bit about PCs, with a bit of tweaking you can get more out of it. It takes a long time to start up but if you just hibernate instead then this resumes very quickly. The fujutsi wireless utility is pretty useless so I disabled it almost straight away and MS Works isn't anything special but nowadays open office will meet the needs of most consumers for free.

Even if you're a novice I still think you will get something from this laptop out of the box and i certainly wouldn't be unhappy if I received it as a present.

Since its a budget laptop you'll be quickly disappointed if you try to do much more than light browsing or office work. Youtube and facebook is about your limit, i have got some CCG (card games) working on it but even some DVDs cause the laptop to lag. The build quality is OK, I have dropped the laptop from a height of 2ft and it survived without any fresh scratches.

The battery life quotes 2 hours but after infrequent use it feels more like 45 minutes. This is the sort of laptop you dont want to be using away from a power socket. Also it has no PCMCIA but then again I can't think of anything it lacks.

      A great laptop.

I had this laptop two Chrsitmas's again now, and its still going strong. It was pretty cheap for a laptop, and the specs are decent- 80GB hard drive which is big enough for all my applications, work, music and a few games too; 512Mb of RAM; a pretty big screen (sorry, i don't know how big exactly!); a CD / DVD burner and player. It comes with Windows XP home edition already installed and can apparently handle Vista although I haven't tried yet.

The laptop itself is compact and attractive. The lid is silver with a black part in the centre which also reads "Fujitsu Siemens Computers". The laptop is light compared with others on the market, and is thin too. Great for taking it everywhere with you!

Inside, the screen is a great size, and the surround is black with black rubber pads to aid it when it closes. Very user friendly. I find this laptop also boots up much faster than others I have tried, which is great. The keyboard is a reasonable size, and I find it quite easy to type using it. Infact, i'm typing this on it! The keys are black with white (and blue) betters / numbers on them. They are very clear to read. However, one of my keys (the down arrow) has come off, but I do think that was just because of the age and the fact i'm on it all the time. I think it would be easy to fix but i cannot comment on that as i have loast a vital piece of the key. Nevermind! On the plus side, if i key does break off, it is still useable, i still use my down arrow.

The mousepad is rectangle shape and is gray along with the mouse buttons. It is very easy to use, but if you want to use a mouse it is easily done with the 3 USB ports avalible on this laptop.

The battery life is about an hour, but i must warn you, if you use it a lot, the battery life does decrease which is a bit of a pain as mine only lasts a couple of minutes without the AC adaptor now. When the battery life is low, it gives you a warning in a little bubble that comes up 5 minutes before it dies, if you leave it to long it will turn off. A good thing about this, is if you have any documents open and didn't save, you will be able to retrieve them when you get back on.

The sound quality isn't that good if im honest, even top volume is quite quiet, but it is okay if you are on you're own and not with people who are louder than the actual thing. The speaker is in the to left of the laptop. I've also been told by friends that the sound is too "tinny" which is true. A real shame as the rest of the laptop is great.

The fan in this laptop isn't great, it is only a little thing and unfortunatly mine did break. They are extremly hard to get rid of, and i think this is the same for most parts of the laptop. It did cost me a bit to get a replacment.

Overall though, i do thing this is a pretty nifty laptop and reliable too. Cheap to by and has a good variety of features. Its worth it!

A great laptop for those on a budget who need reliability and plenty of memory

Looking for a laptop can be a nightmare and especially of you don't really have a clue what youre looking for!
As a student I needed to purchase one that would be reliable, have a long battery life (or satisfactory at least), plenty of RAM memory, at least 60GB of Hardrive memory, and was fuss-free and simple to use.

I had a budget and was not going to break it! Eventually after much to-do, I came across this laptop - the Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo L7320. A smart, compact and attractive laptop.

It comes with many features including a CD/DVD player/burner, 3 USB connection sockets, headphone and mic sockets, Windows XP package, Microsoft Works, Nero 7 Essentials, Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer 2003 and much more.

The design of the top of the laptop lid is smart in silver, with a Fujitsu Siemens computer logo set in a black panel. To open, there is a silver colouered switch which you slide to the right as you lift up the lid, and here you are presented with the laptop itself in all it's glory!

The screen surround is black and has protective little rubber pads at the top around the edges to protect it when you close the lid. The keyboard is a reasonable size, although sometimes I find it to be rather small. The keys are black and have bold white (and blue) type on them. One downfall i find with this keypad is that for some unknown reason when typing, it will suddenly skip backwards somewhere in the text you have written which can be rather annoying. I would say this is the only major problem I have actually found with this laptop!

The mousepad is rectangular in shape and is a pale gray colour. It is easy to use and there are two silver rectangular buttons for what would normally be on your typical desktop PC mouse, left and right buttons. People often find it hard to convert from a PC mouse to a mousepad, and I did find it difficult at first, however, this mousepad is a good size and once you start using it, it becomes second nature!

Onto battery power - you can either use the battery supplied or the adaptor to power your laptop. I generally keep the adaptor plugged in, as the battery life is about an hour and I usually need longer! When the battery is low, it gives you a warning 5 minutes before your battery will run out and if you forget to re-charge or switch off, it will turn off automatically, so when you switch on again, you will have your programmes where you left off, which has been a lifesaver when I have been writing assignments! (Not wise I know!)

There is also a small speaker on the top left corner which provides good sound, however the top volume level isn't actually that loud to be honest, which is a shame. Some people might also find the sound a bit 'tinny', but I'm sure if you change your preferences in your Media player, this can be adjusted to some sort of reasonable level.

Along the bottom of the laptop are 8 small LED lights to indicate power on and off, caps lock, scr lock and internet on/off. One point to note about internet connection is that in order to activate a connection you need to press Fn and F2 simultaneously, otherwise as far as I am aware you cannot get an internet connection.

As far as damage goes, I did have a little accident with a glass of milk right over the keyboard. If this ever happens to you, turn off/remove battery/adaptor straight away as this can prevent further damage. Also do not try and use a heat source like I did to try and dry any liquids, as I tried using a hairdryer on it's lowest setting and this melted the keys.

So... after getting my dad to check out my laptop all I needed was a replacement keyboard. Fujitsu Siemens themselves do not provide replacement parts for their products but they do provide contact details for the warehouse that can sell them to you, which can be found on the UK website for Fujitsu Siemens.

After ringing them up about a replacement keyboard all was sorted and for a mere £20 (£10 p+p) I had a new keyboard! They also do many other replacement parts.

Overall I would say this is a pretty reliable laptop. Starting up can be a bit slow, but other than that it's great if you are on a budget and need something that has a good amount of memory and plenty of media packages to get you started!
