The Battery is really good lasts a good while I tested it and seemed to last at lease a good 2 and a half hours. Not much for all day working but just enough to help you out when you're on the train.
Really Lovely and thin 3cm little machine however it's quite large in width and weight surprisingly weighing in at 2.6kg. Personally I always find it a little annoying to lump around a big laptop. So it could sure be smaller and lighter that would be a great improvement. However that being said it does have a really nice 15inch TFT screen with great resolution 1,024x768. The Screen is a real plus point as it helps solve the usual issue with laptops that prevents you from viewing from different angles. With this awesome display I could even see the screen view clearly at a wired side on angle.
The Graphics are a bit of a let down really though a bit of a shame considering it has some really nice features and really good design even if a bit on the heavy side. The CPU it's got is lame for any kind of 3d games it's defo not a laptop to try and max out by playing a game it would be massively slow to try an render even a half way decent game. However great for watching movies and streaming tv with it's big clear screen it does that entertainment job very well. The Amilo's wide body is a good asset when it comes to ports it's got lots on the sides without effecting the sylish look of the laptop. Along with standard stuff like usb's it even has an Fire Wire port and a card reader so that you can insert SD cards and the like right in without an adapter.
The keys are big and well laid out which I liked. The hard drive is a little on the small side these days bigger is definitely better.
Over All a nice little feature rich laptop, Just don't expect it to be the most high end piece of tech you've ever laid hands on though.
I have found the Fujitsu-siemens Amilo 7400 an amazing and powerful tool. It has less processing power than my standard pc, yet it runs faster!!
For home use, it has a more than enough power to cope with gaming (although I haven't tried it online as yet), complex Photoshop graphics and general day to day items.
Being the first time I have owned a laptop, I have nothing to really compare it to. I do find the battery life on the short side, as once it's below 50% the power just seems to drain quickly.
Apart from that, I have absoltely no gripes with this lovley little machine at all.
Small, compact, powerful, quick, built in cdr/w drive, built in wireless LAN capable, mmc/sd card reader and a pci slot for placing a mobile network card in, making it truely portable.
I'm sure there are more powerful laptops out there, but for SOHO (small office, home office) and general home use, you can't fall off at all.
I have classed this Laptop as a Small Buisness Users Laptop however it can be used by home users as well. Dont be fulled by the 1.6ghz Processor speed this is not slow as the chip set inside a centrino Laptop is a Pentium M (mobile)therefore unlike most Laptop and Desktop Buyers Many of you would overlook this Lap
top due to the 1.6 Ghz processor DONT this laptop is just as fast as a 2.6 or a 2.8 GHz pentium 4 on the market just now. All round this is really Nice piece of kit and even though many people dont associate Fujtsu with Laptops Ive heard of very few problems with the Fujitu Brand. As for centrino the chip seems very reliable makes your battery power up to 4 HOURS and is about half the weight and very thin compared to most laptops out there today My Veiw if youve got the money and want a good solid performing Laptop that takes up little space has wi fi technoligy for easy internet access where ever you are and is nice and light thin and has a very large hard drive, then you could do worst than plump for this machine A WINNER IN MY BOOKS.
