The Amilo D I purchased utilised the Pentium 4 2.53 ghz processor with a 15' screen. A very competent machine with an excellent ATI mobility Radeon 9000 graphics card. The screen is pretty sharp when you have got the viewing angle right. But it is not for the hard of seeing, at its best resolution the fonts are very small even when set to large. It will largely depend on what you want to use it for. Excellent for 3D gaming on the move and surfing the internet, especially on broadband where it handles video very well. There did not seem to be any BIOS settings that would improve the situation and no BIOS updates have ever been issued by Fujitsu -Siemens for this model, that I am aware of. The power management never worked properly at all and the machine would not resume from hibernation or standby and had to be manually re-booted each time. Disabling power management in the BIOS and in Windows XP did not prevent the machine going into standby/hibernation so the problem was constant.
