It could handle new installations with ease, and the 2gb RAM comes in so handy when using multiple programs, and it makes everything run so much faster and smoother. There did not seem to be any BIOS settings that would improve the situation and no BIOS updates have ever been issued by Fujitsu -Siemens for this model, that I am aware of. The power management never worked properly at all and the machine would not resume from hibernation or standby and had to be manually re-booted each time. Disabling power management in the BIOS and in Windows XP did not prevent the machine going into standby/hibernation so the problem was constant.
