I used this laptop for nearly 3 years and its not been a happy marriage.
All is seemly good with this laptop. lots of power for its size and all the trimmings with go with it.
So far the following has been replaced, screen panel took over a month to get done, screen driver board again over a month, upper case cracked around the hinges from design fault, lower case after they replaced the screen they cracked the case
Now the fan is dying and I've given up.
The machine was used a light ultra mobile pc for when i didn't need much power just email light web. The machine worked well most of the time unless it was in for repair. The screen was high res and a wide aspect ratio.
The battery wasn't the best but with all the extras it wasn't a surprise, the psu was small and light so wasn't a issue normally.
The repairs where initial simple, just picked up by courier and should be back soon, I had to chase normally with no updates available or miss information, being told it was repaired shortly only for the courier to arrive moments later.
The keyboard worked well and the mouse pad was good and not too sensitive.
The dvd worked well and the selection of ports made plugging in a breeze, if the build quality was better this would be great but sadly its poor.
PUT this revieew on p7010 because could not find p5020 and this is the closest thing to it
Fujitsu Lifebook P5020
The specs for the laptop are as follows:
Windows XP Home Edition
Pentium M 1ghz
Memory card reader
The laptop its self is 10.3" x 7.8" x 1.6" and it weighs just 3.85 lbs.
Had this for a while now its very impressive item. battery lasts for about 5 hours fully charged and if that is not long enough for you you can remove the CD Drive and put in its place a extra battery. The laptop handles XP like a dream. it has all the usual things laptops have vga sound,2 usb ports firewire, and it even has a compact flash this is a very good idea for removable storage. The two speakers on the fron tof laptop are very loud and are very high quality as you would expect from realtek ACL202.
only trouble i had with this is my fingers are quite big and the keyboard is small but you expect this from a laptop of this size.
The graphics are handled by the integrated Intel Extreme 2 with a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 although i though that it looked better with 1024 x 768.It is perfect for Office Applications and worked fine with films aswell.
I never really used the CD/DVD Drive much on this laptop so can not really comment on this but here are the specs for it 24x (CD) / 8x (DVD) read, 16x Write, 16x reWrite ,The Hard Drive is a impressive 60GB and is very quiet. The P Series Laptop has 512mb of DDR SDRam installed and can take upto 1024mb but there is only one ram socket because of the size.
the laptop looks very cool and you will be impressed because it performs as good as it looks.
i also think that you can remove the cd/dvd drive and you can put another battery in its place so that the laptop lasts even longer perfect for when your on the move and have no power outlet to charge the laptop just make sure the batterys are fully charged.
I would reccomend this laptop to anyone who is always on the move, prefect for students or business men/women.
