Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D ... bought this budget laptop in JUne 2004 to take on a lengthy tour of New Zealand. The machine worked well for a while and then in August 2004 the machine started to display sporadic boot up problems. It would not boot when the power lead was plugged in but would boot under battery power every time. When the power lead was subsequently plugged in sometimes the laptop would spontaneously re-boot and on other occasions would be OK. There did not seem to be any BIOS settings that would improve the situation and no BIOS updates have ever been issued by Fujitsu-Siemens for this model, that I am aware of. I can’t really say much about what you can do with it, that would make it more of a review of Windows XP, but I can tell you about price, speed, battery, memory etc. We brought this laptop from PC World, at a very inviting price of £699.99, with an all in one printer thrown in at half price. Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M7400 ... have found the Fujitsu-siemens Amilo 7400 an amazing and powerful tool. It has less processing power than my standard pc, yet it runs faster!! For home use, it has a more than enough power to cope with gaming (although I haven t tried it online as yet), complex Photoshop graphics and general day to day items. Being the first time I have owned a laptop, I have nothing to really compare it to. I do find the battery life on the short side, as once it s below 50% the power just seems to drain quickly.
