HP Compaq Business Notebook 6735s ... got this laptop when signing up to a T Mobile contract back in May this year (2009) and after having a few laptops over a couple of years I knew what I wanted from mine! (The basics 15.4-Inch Laptop 2.0 GHz AMD Sempron SI-40 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, Vista Basic) It is a large laptop-well comapred to my old tiny acer one anyway! It has a large screen which took me a while to adjust too but great for watching films on. It came with 3 recovery disks (app and driver recovery, a vista one and also a software one) The laptop is very heavy to me and I do struggle to carry it about or balance on my knee so it mainly stays in one place-to me not what a laptop is... HP G6000 ... laptop worked great initially. I upgraded to the HP G6000 from a Samsung V20. Well, stupid me because while my lowly Samsung V20, which has been all round the world with me and never let me down, the HP G6000 at around 18 months old and not used that much has produced all sorts of problems. It overheats despite having lots of breathing space. It reboots itself continually for no reason. It turns itself off at random. The fan makes loud noises and sometimes cuts out. The battery doesn t hold it s charge for more than 1 1/2 hours. The Windows Updates constatntly fail probably because the system turns itself off at will! It is now very slow too. HP Pavilion tx1410us Entertainment ... have now had the tx1000 laptop for 3 years, which is the UK version of the hptx1410us (has a slightly different keyboard layout and region 2 DVD player). I have been using my HP Pavilion for college and university work, as well as entertainment for many hours every day. Good points There are many other places to read the spec, I originally choose this laptop because it was powerful and quick for its size and I managed to get a good deal. I found the 12.1 inch screen to be a very useful size, and the laptop is small and light enough to carry around in an ordinary rucksack.
