First of all, I am writing this review using HP 620:) This laptop has been travelling with me for more than 4 years. Though it has been a little wounded, it still serves me a good deal. So, as you might have understood, my HP620 has suffered some situations, but it is still alive, and I am going to tell you how it functions after all.
1. Once it fall from the bed on the floor. It was 1 year old then. I was so scared, but it was young and overcame this disaster successfully. Though now it lacks a small piece of corner on the lid, I do not notice it, and it does not influence any of its functions.
2. Another time, I poured a cup of tee with sugar on it! It was 2 years old then and I was sure that I should say good bye to my lovely laptop and was going to bury it with the tears in my eyes. But I had a nice friend who suggested me to clean it quickly with a towel and put it over so that the keybord is lying on the table. What do you think? In a couple of hours all keys on the keyboard wokred! I even did not have to repair anything.
3.Recently, I lost my temper and hit my HP620 on the keyboard. I thought, I crashed. But only two keys flew out. They function, but their plastic cover is out.
What I like most of all
In my opinion, it is very good that HP620 has mat display, namely it has High Gloss. So, it does not matter for me from which side the sun shines. Everything is clear and visible. Moreover, I like that it is so durable. After all disasters that happened to it, my laptop is a hero for me. It has nice quality of picture 15,6inches (1366 x 768). It has 250 Gb of hard disk memory.
What I like less
It has not the best camera, only 2 Mp. Moreover, it will be inconvenient for the users who have got used to the square number keyboard in the right corner. HP620 doesn't have it. It has only a line of numbers over the letters. Moreover, after 4 years of use, its battery has become weak and constantly sends me the signal that it should be changed.
I bought the HP620 last year when i was looking for a laptop to help with my studies and writing assignments for university. It is really fast so i don't get frustrated with the speed of my brain working faster than technology. The only real disadvantage i find is that the battery runs out a little too quick but i do have alot of programmes running at once which is probably why.It is also excellent for viewing DVD and such and the screen is great. I also bought a good bag from HP to carry this in as i do travel around alot and it is quite light and very easy to transport around. MY little sister can use it with ease so it is definitely a good product for beginners too.
I would definitely advise anyone to buy this one and i have recommended this to my friends though and i am extremely happy with the product. Thank you HP :)
i am a computer engginiaring student. so i needed a laptop for study. i bought it 1 year ago .its quality of high defination screen is very nice. with core 2 duoprocesser .that works really faster in basic needs.like working in C++ programs, video editing. also in this a good entertainment is really needed like surfing the internet ,watching movies, playing high end games .(most high end games dont work but still gud ) i got the requirements that i want . it has 320 gb hard disk space which is enogh for me and it will not hang the system that is a advantage.and its DVD-RAM GMA 4500MHD is very good in reading dvds and cds fastly.and coping speed is very good.also sound quality is very god. all the things i tried in this laptop working efficiently and grastly. but the worst problem i got after a year when hard disk of tjislaptop corropted . i got angry at that time. but cant do anything .becouse the warreenty that i got is just 1 year so repacement of this hdd was not possible. so i bought a new from local . i preffer this laptop to for those people whom want to use laptop for 1 or 2 years .
If you are thinking of buying a laptop, this is a great buy! of course there are better ones on the market but if you are looking for one that you can rely on this is a good choice. I think this is probably the best laptop I have owned it's speedy, has a great memory range, and is good for playing dvds and games. Unfortunately my clumsy self dropped it on the floor and the screen smashed by can still connect it to a monitor where it still works! Hewlett Packard have always had a reputation for delivering excellence and this is no exception as it has never given me an issue , HP even has all it's own software installed which will help you fight viruses and computer problems/slowness. I have owned 5 laptops and this is head and shoulders above the rest it has done me years and will do the same for you!
We use a few HP 620's in my accountancy firm and as IT specialist I get hands on with all our laptops.
We generally stick to HP as a rule because of the build quality and price, there are better laptops on the market for a premium but we find the best balance between price, quality and shelf life with the HP range.
The 620's that we use are around three years old now and when used for 40 hours a week, mostly on mains power, we have started to notice a real performance dip.
Most batteries have had to be replaced but that is mainly due to the heavy usage they get in our firm. Replacement batteries can be sourced very cheaply from any parts supplier, I generally get on best with MISCO.
The operating system is Windows 7 and is compatible with all our software in the office, although not best in terms of performance.
Generally I would say if your looking for a simple home laptop with no massive performance requirements this is your perfect match, however if you need performance to run any demanding programs then I'd suggest some of the HP ProBook range, I'm currently running a HP Probook 4540s and gives far superior performance and battery life.
The Hewlett Packard HP620 is a laptop that offers good value for money. It is hard wearing and ideal for the whole family. It has many benefits including its duel core CPU, Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit and 3GBof DDR-3 RAM. It has a large enough screen of 15.6 inches and weighing only 2.5kg so can easily be transported around with you for daily use. Its course of plastics makes it resilient to common scratches that can be all too frequent with lots of use and transportation. The dual Intel core processor is fast enough. The keyboard could be more user friendly as I found certain keys to be on the small side. The graphic performance could also be better. The storage is excellent with 500GB storage and the CD/DVD lets you create and play both. In conclusion I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to any other potential purchasers.
The HP 620 is affordable and has a lot to offer to meet basic corporate uses. It is durable and the tough and coarse plastic used in the manufacture also makes it ideal for family use. Despite having a large screen of 15.6 inches it only weighs about 2.5 kg which is light enough to carry around for everyday purpose. Battery life is good at about 227 minutes which allows one to carry out their work for nearly four hours. The dual-core Intel Pentium processor is speedy enough for such a low price. The main down fall is the keyboard which is not so user friendly. Important keys like the shift and control buttons have been indented by 20mm and when typing quickly this results in quite a few typing errors. However, this can easily be adjusted to by continued use. It also has poor graphic performance which does not have much power for video editing.
My main reason for buying Hewlett Packard HP620 was it's dual core CPU, Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit and 3GB of DDR-3 RAM.
But now there are more laptop models in the market with better specs and competitive pricing.
The first thing you notice is its build quality. With tough, textured plastics, it is pleasingly resilient to scuffs and scratches. This makes it a great choice for family use, as it is a machine built to last. Despite its large 15.6-inch screen, it's light enough to carry.
Unfortunately, graphics performance is less capable and falls well behind it's competitors.
However, the storage is quite impressive. The 500GB hard drive provides ample storage, while the DVD rewriter provides support for HP's LightScribe technology, letting you create CD/DVD disc labels with ease. The dual-core Intel Pentium processor proves suitably speedy for this low price, running office software with aplomb and even allowing entry-level photo-editing software to run with ease.
Overall, a good system in this price segment.
It's a well-built 15.6-inch laptop, with good specs such as good connectivity, hard drive size, etc. However its keyboard isn't the best.
When I unpacked it the first thing I noticed is its tough build quality, and textured plastics. I would imagine it to be quite resistant to scratches, and more than suitable taking into account the cats and dogs, who will most probably walk all over it! As above the keyboard is poor; the shift and Ctrl buttons are too small because of the multimedia keys on the left of the keyboard! So it becomes awkward when typing as I keep on hitting the wrong keys.
Despite its large 15.6-inch screen it's quite a light laptop, so I'll definitely be using it on my travels despite the keyboard issue. Also it's got good battery life, almost 4 hours!
So in summary I'd recommend it for its tough build quality, good specs, being light, and good battery life. Shame about the keyboard!
The Hewlett Packard 620 laptop is lightweight, convenient, has all your standard features and best of all it comes at an amazing price. A laptop can be a students best friend especially if it is lightweight, has plenty of features, and can run the latest programs. Luckily this laptop met all those requirements and it didn't cost me a fortune to get it.
At first glance you will notice its sleek, professional design and bright 15" LED HD display. Perfect companion for people who enjoy watching the latest movies, or Hulu flix while on the go. The anti spill keyboard and scratch resistant surface are also excellent features for students on the go like myself.
Powering this laptop is an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, it might not have the ability to play the latest 3d games, but it is more than capable of doing everything else. Such as, burning dvd's, downloading music, webcam chat, and displaying HD videos. And since its packed with a decent sized 320 gb hard drive you wont be worried about running out of space for your media files anytime soon. Since I spend most of my day at the college campus, I especially like its architectural, sleek design and long lasting battery life. Features that help me look professional and organized while at school.
I choose this product mainly due to the price as I was looking on a budget. I have only every had and always stuck to Toshiba products but decided to make a change as my father recently purchased a HP product and had nothing but good reviews.
My Pros - I like the quick start up function (how quickly it starts up) although I'm unsure of how good this is as my last laptop (Toshiba) was so old and had so much on it, it took forever to turn on, so any improvement to me seems amazing!
- Obviously the price is another pro - it is good value for money
- I like the Bluetooth function as a) I never had this before and b) it stops me having to faff around looking for cables that I can never seem to put back in the same place!
- I like the overall appearance of it also however...here come the negative.
My Cons - For me the keyboard is a big thing as I get irritated easily from silly mistakes and I found that unlike my desktop and previous laptop the keys are really stiff and I often found, whilst typing, when looking back at my work, letters will be missing or I noticed mistakes I wouldn't normally make as I hadn't pressed the keys hard enough.
This is my only negative really but I did find it quite annoying in the beginning. I have got used to it but when I go back onto my desktop or use someone else's laptop it does feel a lot easier.
I think next time I would rather buy such a product in store so I can have a play with the keyboard and functions first.
Overall, I'm not disappointed with this product but the keyboard has let it down. I would recommend it because it's a great little machine just a slight niggle with the keyboard.
The HP620 is a really good laptop, i think that it is a much more afordable version of HP's Probook.
I've been using the 620 for about a month now and have found that it is really speedy when going through files and opening up emails via outlook. I am able to have a few different programs up and still navigate round the computer without getting lag or the computer slowing down.
Another thing is it is very durable, it fell off my bed (oops) and i picked it up and away i went again, you can tell by the fine finish that it has a good build quality.
When i started using the laptop i thought the keyboard was very annoying because the keys didn't click down as much as i was expecting, i guess i was so used to having a desktop comupter! After a few days though i just got used to it and now i think its great, very easy to use and quick!
The one thing i would say is i wouldn't get the laptop for a 'gamer' as the graphics weren't as good as i was expecting, luckily i don't play games on this laptop so it doesn't affect me, just something to think about!
i personally have one of this and what i noticed is that the chargers do not last very long, the laptop is superb fast and delivers in swift time. I would also say there are many factors as to why these do not last probably the way they are being handled. Notwithstanding they do not last i have bought more than three chargers now but in the end the tip has to be twisted or kept in a certain way before it actually charges the laptop.
these are the bad bits which i do not recommend but relatively the battery life is excellent compared to other laptops i have used. charger wise i would score them 40 percent battery wise 85, performance and durability 80 the hard disc size is generous for a single user and a small family of 4. altogether a wondeful laptop in all.
three stars thanks.
It is important for you to figure out exactly what you are looking for. Try doing some research by looking for articles and consumer reviews on the web. Make a list of the features that you want and the specifications that are important. Then compare brands and prices. When you find the brand and model that you prefer, then search for the best price on that. Try doing some comparison once you know the product you are looking for.
While the initial offering may be appealing, you really need to look at the entire deal they are offering. These types of clubs will often promise you something like 10 DVDs for free if you agree to join the club. One of the catches is that often times the shipping fee they charge for the 'free' DVDs is equal to, or greater than, the amount that you can purchase the same DVDs for in a regular store.
You should also take a look at their regular prices, since you have agreed to purchase additional items at the regular price. Do they disclose their prices AND their shipping and handling fees? Do they give you a customer support phone number, and an email address?
Patch HP's EliteBook, ProBook and Compaq laptops are its flagship sector models, it also offers many cheap corporate machines, much as the 620.
Built for base role use, it has a lot to tender, but is let dr. here by a significant system flaw.
The rank attribute you mention is its resilient frame attribute. With similarly leatherlike, rough plastics as used by the Acer Plan 5551-P32G32Mn, it is pleasingly resilient to scuffs and scratches. This makes it a eager action for home use, as it is a machine improved to conclusion.
Despite its overlarge 15.6-inch obstruct, the 2.5kg chassis is tripping sufficiency for fundamental travelling use. The 227-minute firing being is virtuous for this value muzzle and lets you fastness excavation for nearly quaternary hours.
Where the HP water matte, nevertheless, is its poorly intellection out keyboard arrangement. Featuring a upright body of transmission keys on its left-hand support - victimized to pause and leave finished your penalisation, for admonition - much substantive keys as the Displace and Ctrl buttons love been concave by 20mm.
When typing at move this implementation that it is all too undemanding to regain the condemnable keys with your socialistic aggregation, resulting in visit errors. Over instant we recovered that our typewriting slow tuned to this layout, but it's notwithstanding a low pick for specified a important element of a laptop's decoration.
