HP Compaq Business Notebook 6730b
*******************************
After the rocking success of HP Compaq Business Notebook 6710b and HP Compaq Business Notebook 6720b, now HP has launched a new updated version in this series with HP Compaq Business Notebook 6730b. The features and configuration is slightly different from the pavilion series but the design I completely changed. Pavilion series notebooks have metallic finish but the business series is completely built by high quality plastic body. I really like this one as it provide a good feeling than metallic finish body. Now I am going to discuss its performance and some advantaged and disadvantages also.
***
The display size is in popular 15.4" category and there is slightly different than pavilion notebooks, that is its aspect ratio. This notebook has almost 4:3 aspect ratio and it doesn't support widescreen display, that I hate to have. Wide screen is generally meant to play games and watching videos or movies. But in business series notebooks this is not a good feature and I always prefer non-widescreen display. The pixel ratio is about 1280 x 800 ( WXGA ). Best screen size for business peoples.

In terms of processing speed this notebook performs as a good speed and there is a Intel processor with new P series Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 with total clock speed of 2.26 GHz. Other feature of this processor is its front side data bus speed and that is excellent with 1066 MHz. There are some contradictions about the data bus speed. If we have high bus speed processor than it will get hot again and again, not recommended in hot climatic conditions where computer may get shut down due to this problem. This is a main different in AMD and Intel processors as AMD had some processors with very high data bus speed and they are good for cold regions but Intel has balanced products for both conditions. L2 cache size is required for temporary data collection and this processor also has good 3 MB L2 cache size and I never faced any problem due to cache size. But you may face problem with 2 MB or 1 MB cache processors. Previously when I bought my fist PC than there was only 1 MB cache size and about 533 MHz bus speed. I always faced problem of computer hang and slow speed even with 1 GB Ram in Windows XP. So here is a wise decision with providing good processor.

Next feature that is required some discussion is its memory size in terms of RAM and storage. This notebook has good 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM with 800 MHz of speed. I always used to say that 800 MHz and above peed RAM is considered as good combination with same or higher front side bus speed processors. So here also we have some good combination of RAM and processor. The size of RAM s average and There are no problem for me of slow speed access. But I have problem with 3D graphics software's and high graphics application. These applications require some good combination of internal graphics memory also.

Other memory size is its storage capacity and it is slightly lower than what we can aspect, with 160 GB serial ATA hard disk drive. Now a day's 250 GB hard disk drive is considered as an average capacity for notebooks and 320 GB is good capacity available in notebooks. I don't believe in hard disk drive as I got crashed it two timed in my desktop PC so that higher capacity means you will keep more data and if you hard disk get crashed than it will lose more data. So best available hard dik is solid state drive but it is very costly and we can't afford it as higher capacity.

The measure improvement in notebooks available is its wireless network range and almost all middle higher range notebooks are available with good range wireless card, 802.11n and it has almost three times more range than previous 802.11b/g network card.

Battery life of this notebook has measure improvement and there is a good back-up battery with almost 5 hours back-up. In terms of graphics memory this notebook has good but not best graphics memory with Intel GMA 4500MHD Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0, graphics card and it is average for notebooks. All other features is similar to its previous version and over all this is a good notebook with design and features.
