Absolutely amazing spec if you can get it for the price I did. (HP Compaq Business Notebook 6735s)

Advantages: 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD and dualcore 2.4GHZ for £320.

Disadvantages: Perhaps a little flimsy, and came with a malfunctioning edition of McAfee.

We've had this laptop for about 10 months now, and it continues to impress. It came with Vista Home Premium, and we got it for a truly amazing deal at the time: it cost £320, and it came with 4GB RAM and a dualcore 2.4GHZ AMD processor, dvdrw, bluetooth, 320GB HDD, a larger 12-cell battery and a nice 15.4" screen, so not exactly the same spec as that listed here.

For the price the specification is absolutely incredible. It boots vista with remarkable speed compared to our other laptop which has 2GB of RAM and a dualcore 1.44GH processor, and the rest of the specification is similarly good. The screen is matte and therefore very pleasing to view in bright conditions in which a glossy screen would yield unpleasant screen glare, and the laptop quite compact and light. The battery life is very good, being able to reach 3 hours with normal use and WiFi on easily, and it doesn't even overheat very much. Everything functions as normal as you'd expect with such a laptop. It's sleek and light and nice to use.

However, there were a few concerns with it upon purchasing. Although a lot of machines come preloaded with a lot of software, this laptop did not. You could see this as a good thing as it doesn't have unnecessary software, but I see it as bad because it was supplied with a non-functioning edition of McAfee that blocked anything happening and took a while to get rid of. I replaced McAfee with Microsoft Security Essentials and turned the windows firewall back on; bizarrely, mcafee kept disabling it. However, despite this minor software concern, everything else runs brilliantly and as you would expect with it. My final concern is its durability- it is light and sleek but it is of a plastic construction and of strange geometry, and leaves something to the imagination as to its durability, when compared to our other laptop which is made of magnesium and would probably survive a nuclear war.

Summary: If you can get it on the same deal I did, then buy it. If not, then see if you can better the deal.
