Advantages: Good customer back up for hardware querries

Disadvantages: many as mentioned in review, unreliable hardware to software compatibility

I have had some worst experiences with HP products particularly laptops from HP Compaq. The external features sound to be interesting. But all were a flaw for me. I would compare the HP lappy with a local make lappy that i have bought. I have bought both these one for me and my friend for gift.
The hp laptop had some problems when it got burdened with software. The problems were very critical. Such as hard disk failure, RAM burnt down, cpu fan burnt, mother board burnt etc. o the hardware was not found up to the mark to support the system.
And i don't understand the reason to provide VISTA as operating system. Microsoft recommends minimum 1GB ram for vista and HP sells licensed vista with its laptop with 512 mb ram. That is ridiculous.
But anyways the after sales support was fantastic from HP and probably that is the reason why they are market leaders in India.
