This laptop really infuriates. In terms of specification it is a really great laptop - plenty of RAM and a larget HD drive, as well as features like a rewritable DVD drive, fast Wifi and even built in Bluetooth. The battery life is excellent too. In other words, it should be a professional's dream.
However, the reality is, it is far from. The Wifi doesn't pick up networks very well, even if you're in close range to the wireless router, the DVD drive is a real pain to operate and the keyboard - the main input device - is really oddly set out: the right hand shift key, the most used one, is smaller than usual and in an odd place. This means that use of symbols and or capitals ends up with you re-directing to the top of a page. It is trivial I know but very infuriating, especially when you're writing long reports.
That said, the screen is of a great definition with a really crisp picture, the touchpad is sharp and responsive, and video playback is excellent. These features are useful for everyday but pretty superfluous for business use.
If only HP could focus on usability rather than high specs, maybe I'd be more impressed.
