This laptop probably isn't one I would of chosen myself. It was actually given to us by a friend. Our laptop had broken and this was an old one of hers, she offered it for free so we happily accepted!
This is a small notebook lapFtop. It has a 12 inch display and weighs roughly around 3 pounds so very lightweight. Its black in colour with just a small hp logo on the front. It has a usual keyboard with a very small mouse button inbetween the g, h & b keys (I'll touch on that later in the review.) It has a few touch sensor buttons above the keyboard for options such as turning wireless on and off and controlling the sound. It has to buttons for mouse use below the keyboard.
I'm not an expert in this field so I can't go into to much detail but the specifications are:

We usually just keep this plugged in as we only tend to use it at home. Some websites claim this laptop has a battery life of 4-6 hours. I've found that just using the internet, sound off, brightness off it only lasts about 1-2 hours.
I'd also like to touch on the heat that comes from the battery. On a table its fine but used on your lap (it is a LAPtop after all) it does become very hot. Ive sometimes had to put a book or file underneath it as its so hot on my leg.
I had to touch on the sound with this one as sometimes when the boyfriends stolen the TV for playing on his xbox I use this to catch up on my favourite programmes such as Eastenders (I know, I know, but I love it). The sound isnt particuarly loud at all, it tends to have to be on max if you have any background noise. I've also found that turning into max can worsen the sound quality. The speaker is on the bottom of the laptop though and can be a little muffled on my lap so sometimes i have to tilt the laptop slightly so its a little elavated for a clearer noise.

Mouse & Touch buttons
There are a few touch sensitive buttons on the top for controlling thing such as wireless & volume. One thing I noticed that i dont always see with other laptops is the volume control. Rather than being a sime - and + control its a slider. Theres also a mute button which lights up when activated.
The mouse is not a touchpad but a trackpoint. I must say I prefer trackpoints to touch pads- its sounds strange but touchpads irritate my finger- i just hate the feel of my finger moving on them! Saying this im not a huge fan of trackpoints either it seems! Its a small rubber button which is sensitive to small movements so easy enough to use but not as easy as a mouse. I also found it strange that the selector keys (left click/right click) were at the bottom of the keyboard whereas the trackpoint was in the middle. Needless to say we very quickly pluggged a mouse in.
My boyfriend upgraded the RAM to 3gb because it was working pretty slow.
With the 3gb RAM this computer works great for me. Ive managed to play a variety of games on without any speed issues (including the Sims 3 which I would consider a "heavy" game)
I sometimes find the keys a little stiff, I may write something and then have to go back as the keyboard hasnt responded to the keys I've pressed. This happens more often on sites such as facebook though so could be just as related to that.
The laptop so far has proved not to be fragile. My delightful toddler as thrown it on the floor a number of times before I could grab it off him. Its also slipped off my laptop before and nothing has been damaged as of yet fingers crossed!
Being an older model it wasnt easy to find online. There wasnt any reputable shops in my search so I looked on ebay. They are selling second hand here for around £150-£250 which I think is a good price! However I'd really reccomend upgrading to 3gb RAM as this had made all the difference for us.
