Advantages: Large screen with high res, lots of memory, smooth running, quiet
Disadvantages: None that I'm aware of
A few years ago, I'd bought myself an Acer laptop as I was in my final few years of high school and in need of a proper working laptop with lots of memory capacity to do excessive amounts of work on and handle a lot of use. Sadly I was disappointed. Within a few months of having the laptop it was completely run down, so I booked it in for repair and had it back in around a months time. The first few weeks were fine, but then again, after a few more I started having problems and the laptop AGAIN failed to work. So Comet, the company I'd bought the particular laptop from, offered me an exchange for a new brand of laptop to replace my very terrible first purchase.
So I wondered about the shop looking at what was on offer. I'm very picky and like the mouse pad in a certain location and the laptop to look a certain way. For example, had the mouse pad been black and contrasted the rest of the grey exterior on the opening door of the laptop, I don't think I would have wanted to choose it. This may seem like a bit of a ridiculous method when choosing a laptop, but so long as it had enough memory capacity I was hooked.
I chose an HP G61-401SA model because the sleek look was in line with what my personal tastes are and keep the laptop looking modern and lightweight. As well as this it has a 15.6" Brightview high definition screen, with resolution of 1366 x 768, which was perfect for excessive use and I've never had any problems with it. It came with a built in webcam and Youcam programme installed which saved me the bother and money of having to buy that on top of the price of the laptop (it had cost around the £400mark whereas my Acer laptop was cheaper so I'd made up the difference). 4GB of memory capacity is more than enough and even after 2 years of use I still have more than half of that as free space. The laptop runs smoothly, has regular updates, is efficient and makes little sound. Two years of considerate usage and its still working smoothly is well worth the money in my book. Plus, it was wireless and having spent years using a telephone cord to connect to my modem, it was a relief to finally have the option to use it anywhere at home whenever I wanted.
This is definitely something I would recommend to anyone as there are so many positives and it is so efficient.
Summary: An excellent laptop with a vast array of positives that make it well worth buying
