I originally bought the HP G62, because the laptop I owned previously, was taking longer than expected to be fixed. I wanted to find a laptop that was affordable and well equipped. I would say I got pretty much what I wanted with the HP G62. You get a Intel Core I3 Processor, Windows 7 Home Premium (You don't get a Windows 7 back up CD, which would be problematic, should your hard drive fail.), HD Graphics and a 250GB Hard Drive, which allows you to store a good amount of songs, Photos, documents etc.
I would not say I was terrible keen on the design of the HP G62, it has some kind of triangular design which makes the laptop look a little old fashioned, some people may disagree with me, but that is just my opinion. Turning on the laptop for the first time you will find the laptop really easy to setup, you just simply follow the instructions given to you on the screen. I did not like HP Support Assistant which is a programme that is meant to help you, but I find it slows the laptop down terribly on start up, so I uninstalled it, and voila.
I would certainly recommend this laptop to a first time buyer, or someone looking for an affordable do it all laptop.
I bought this laptop about 2 months ago, and so far have found no faults, however there are a few things this laptop could do better in. It's got a cool design, which is also the thing that attracted me to this laptop. It has a large 15.6 inch display and it's not too heavy either. It has Windows 7 and a good boot up speed(It takes me about 3 minutes from turning on the laptop, until my internet browser opens and all the programs are open). The keyboard takes a couple of days to get used to, and there are some useful short cuts on the keyboard. The laptop is fast and responsive, and good value for money. The hardrive size is good, plenty of space for pictures, music and movies, and games seem to work pretty well on it. As for things that could be improved, some G series laptops don't have bluetooth, there are only 3 USB ports and there is space for 4, and battery life could be improved. Also a backlit keyboard would be great, but not too important. However, saying this, none of these things are major factors for me. Overall, a good, fast, stylish laptop, that is hugely good value for money. I'd definitely recommend to it anyone looking for a mid-range laptop.
