HP Mini - Vivienne Tam Edition.
I bought this net book about a year ago after I decided that I needed something light and small to take to University instead of lugging around my huge Dell laptop. I'll be honest, the first thing that attracted me to the net book was the design. My brother has always told me that when you buy a laptop it should be for what it can do, memory, system etc. and not for fashion however I like shiny, pretty things so I couldn't agree with him and I bought this one instead.
I instantly loved the design of this net book from the moment I saw it. It is designed by the fantastic fashion designer Vivienne Tam. Vivienne worked with HP to develop a range of designer laptops but it is only a small part of her work in the fashion world. All of her designs are influenced by her heritage; Chinese culture and modern fashion. This net book in particular has a beautiful butterfly design and was inspired by the Chinese love story "Butterfly Lovers". The net book is completely 'champagne gold' and the design on the front of the laptop is of 3 beautiful butterflies. The colours are stunning; orange, yellow, pink and brown stand out perfectly on the gold background. I love the colour of the net book and the design, it is so feminine and classy. I am sure that any girl would love it as it so fashionable and it is a style which I am sure will still be fashionable for years to come.
When I first received my net book I was so excited. It came in a gold box with Vivienne Tam written across it. I opened it up to find a beautiful suede case with the net book inside. My first impression of the net book was wow and I just fell in love with it instantly. It is so light at just 2.7 pounds and the perfect size for me with a 10.1 inch LED widescreen display screen. On starting up the net book there was a beautiful Vivienne Tam butterfly display on the screen. The screen quality is amazing, better than any other laptop I have ever had before.
The more I explored the HP mini the more I liked it. It has so many feature which I really enjoy using and it got me thinking that I would have been happy with this laptop even if it wasn't designed by Vivienne Tam. Two of my favourite things about the Vivienne Tam design is that the start button and cursor are both butterflies which flap their wings. The net book comes with a 320GB hard drive which I struggle to fill. It also has a VGA webcam built into it which you can turn into a mirror instantly by pressing the mirror shortcut on the bottom of the screen!
Here are some need-to-know technical facts about the net book:
* The screen is 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution.
* It is powered with intel Atom processor N450.
* It has a 3-cell lithium battery which lasts for 4.25 hours.
* It comes with Windows 7 OS (64 Bit) and HP Software e.g. a compact mirror, QuickWeb, Stardocks, QuickSync and more.
* It has wireless internet: WiFi 802.11 b/g WLAN.
* It also has 3 USB ports and Bluetooth.
I am so glad that I bought this laptop, it set me back about £500 but it was worth every penny. It is so unique and I have never seen anyone else with the same net book. I use it every single day and will continue to use it for years to come. I think that buying designer items is sometimes a little extravagant but this something that I really make use out of and I love it so to me it is completely worth it. Plus this net book is a lot more than just a pretty face. It is easy to use, fast, hi-tech and it looks good, I couldn't have asked for anything more from this laptop. I think that Vivienne Tam is an amazing designer and I love her work so I am very pleased that I bought this net book as they are quite hard to find.
The net book has a long battery life which is great because I don't like having to take my charger everywhere with me. It is so easy to transport and it is light, the suede case that it comes in is perfect for keeping it protected. This net book is something different and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves fashion and wants to make a statement with their net book.
Thanks for reading.
