I bought this laptop approximately a month a go. The reason I chose this laptop from the hundreds on offer was that it's physical features were very attractive, it's design really stands out for me, the glossy black outside appeals to me also. I have used it everyday, using the internet, word documents, presentations etc. It is very reliable as it has not frozen/crashed as of yet. The windows 7 system works beautifully, I love it! so much better than vista, it has no setbacks whatsoever. It starts up very quickly, so if I am in a rush to find out something on the net or open a piece of work it does not freeze at all. I can type on this laptop freely with no mistakes, the keys are perfect in my view and the keyboard also features an added num-board which is an added bonus. It feels very well made, a little on the heavy side but nothing major, I can not think of any negative points other than, it needs more usb ports as only 2 are provided, so overall it's just amazing! I would definitely recommend!
Now I don't consider myself to be a technical genius, nor do I consider myself to be a complete novice. Somewhere middle of the road! Looking for a new laptop can be a nightmare and I spent many hours trawling the net to find a good one - and I did! I generally use this laptop for general office based tasks - word, PowerPoint, publisher (although these didn't come included with it) etc and also do enjoying using it online. For my use this HP laptop has been great. As I said I am pretty much an average tech head so what was important to me was ease of use and the ability to do what I want it to when I want it to with relative ease. The speed of the laptop is good and can handle what I want it to do with ease. It can handle multi tasking with ease. The general design of the machine is good and is straightforward to work your way around. For my first HP laptop I am very impressed and can see me looking at upgrading to an HP in the future. The only couple of small issues with it are as others have mentioned the battery life isn't great - always take your charger with you. And also HP do like to put a lot of pre-loaded software on it on trials when you first buy it and can be a bit of a pain. But these are minor issues and generally am very happy with it.
I've been using this laptop model for almost a year now and the first thing that really made me choose it is the design. It is fashionable and also has a lot of good physical features. I'm using it for heavy processing, using programs such as Adobe Photoshop and other heavy applications because I'm a graphic artist and it haven't failed me. My only problem would be the heat, not sure if its just me but I noticed that it is a lot hotter than other brands. I remembered that when I got this laptop, it was very slow on start up, that is because of the programs on the start up. So if you want to optimize it, just disable the programs on the start up and its good to go. I love the sound output of this laptop and also with its large screen, its pretty good for watching movies combined with its remote its really perfect for entertainment.
This Laptop was the third and best laptop i've owned! I use the internet daily, for around 3 hours at a time. So I needed a laptop which was really easy to use. The Pavillion is great, you can save sites to favourites so you can access them again with a click. It even uses how you surf to give you a list of 'suggested sites' which is great when you have time to kill. The Pavillion is also good for my daughter to, she finds it really easy to use when playing on games, and she's only 5! I'm happy to sign on and allow her to find her learning games site on BBC all on her own with only me watching for security. She also watches films on it, and with the huge screen with fab picture she has no troubles when viewing. When we went on our recent holiday, the laptop came with us, so we could upload our video clips and photos from our camcorder. This is also easy, with it's own 'Mediasmart' programme which allocates all the pictures to the correct folders. With a little charging time, the battery lasts for such a long time. There was no need for us to take the charger with us on holiday! In conclusion, I would defintately recommend the HP Pavillion DV6. It's easy to use, fun to explore, and a product me and my family cannot live without!
I have had previous HP laptops which have disappointed my greatly, but this HP has given me no disappointment at all! It works beautifully on the Windows 7 system and I have had hardly any problems at all. The only problem I have had was when my sound card disappeared, but that was due to a Windows 7 update. Once I installed another update, my sound card reappeared and everything was working well again. Overall, this laptop is extremely good. It is worth it's money and I would definitely recommend it to a friend. Battery life is good, especially on the energy saver setting. This HP is extremely easy to use and has a easy, quick installation. It is very reliable. Very good laptop. Keyboard works well, no faults. Keys stay on and everything :P. Do not consider buying an Acer laptop instead, they are usually a big disappointment to me, friends and other people who have written reviews about them. Especially the 'Acer Aspire 5338' which came with keys on the keyboard which can flip off extremely easily. Do yourself a favour, buy a HP! I hope I have helped with any decisions you may be making about buying a laptop. :)x
was given this laptop as my birthday present and i am happy to say i have few complaints ! This laptop has a lovely design, a simple black colour (though it also was available in white) with circles on the top. It isnt too heavy and has a good built in webcam with a microphone which is very useful for talking to my friends and will be good if I go to university and would like to see my friends face to face. It is an entertainment laptop and is very fast and easy to use. It came pre-installed with Windows 7, which i have to say is a fantastic, fast system. Being a naturally clumsy person, I haveof course already dropped it on the floor, but it escaped unscathed ! The laptop has a drop-protection system where when it somehow feels it is being dropped, it does something very clever that protects the motherboard. i cant remember exactly what that was. It is fantastic with DVDs and music, and i can easily play any DVD knowing that it will be in fantastic quality. As the speakers are so good, my music sounds fantastic in the HP music player. I can play games easily and without any hitches whatsoever, which I love ! It also comes with wireless built in, and i found it very easy to connect to the network in my house. It is very fast and reliable. However, there are couple of things that i really do not like, and one of those are how short the battery life is ! It lasts for 3 hours on my laptop which is awful, but as i dont need to be on the go much it doesnt really matter. However i do find this very annoying. The other thing would be that the laptop does not come with Microsoft Office, which i have learned that at lot dont now. I think this is bad and i just expected it to be on there. Now i have to spend more money on it. In my opinion, for a lower price range laptop, this is fantastic quality and is very good value for money, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to invest in a really good laptop. I first published this on another site
Previously a Dell-lover, tried HP for the first time this February and don't regret the change. At a first glance the smooth black finish with artistically grey patterns are aesthetically pleasing enough, however the features and overall style of this laptop just blow me away. I'm typing from this laptop right at this moment and can safely say its build quality surpasses that of any I have previously owned (and I warn you, I have had my fair share!). It's density and size make it ideal for portability purposes, and its sleek LED lights in the touch-interfaced bar above the keyboard are features worth taking note of. It's impeccable in speed, with 4GB RAM you'd expect it to be so, but runs today like the very first day I bought it, no flaws, no errors. However I hold a certain distaste for the black glossy finish of this laptop, as it seems to repeatedly gather dust, causing minor visual impediments when working in well-lit conditions. Overall a great buy and something definitely that can assure a standard of quality you would not normally see.
because my work is laptop Maintenance i see alot of laptops. but i prefare HP products for its quality, spare parts and good support. DV6 is one of the most best laptop, comfortable keyboard, good touch pad, screen brightness also is very good. the batt. stay about 1.50- 2.50 depends on work. if u want a good performance, choose this laptop
