I've purchased the Dv6-3118sa laptop about two months ago. I decided on this particular model because I was looking for a 15" laptop, core i5 CPU, 4Gb RAM and at least 320GB Hard Disk space. Since I'm planning for this laptop to last at least 2 years, I want my laptop to be fast, nice looking and cheap. I've never bought HP laptop before, but I knew that HP is better choice than Acer.

I must say that physically this laptop feels nice and solid. It feels nice in my lap. It's not too haevy or clunky. I've heard that some people don't like the trackpad, because the "left-click" is very stiff, but this is not an issue for me because I use the trackpad insted of the buttons. Also when I am at my desk I always use mouse.


Regarding performance, this is a very nice upgrade for me. It boots up very quickly. It also comes out of sleep mode quite quickly and programs launch fast. The 15,6'' display is also very nice. It's very bright. Sceen glare is better than my previous laptop. I enjoy watching DVD movies in widescreen. It feels great :) As with the most of laptops, the fan emits a low level noise. It can get a little problem if you are using some heavy tasks on your laptop, then the noise would be in higher lever. I didn't hear hard drive noise when using this laptop.

The disadvantage of this laptop is battery life. It's not that bad, but it is not great. With moderate use (surfing on WiFi, listening to music in iTunes, and watching YouTube) it lasts for about 3 hours. This is very common complaint with almost every PC laptop in the world. Apple laptops lasts longer, but they cost much much more.

Integrated webcam and mic are great for Skype and Windows Live messenger.

AMD (ATI) Radeon graphic card is great for moderate gaming. I enjoy playing WoW on this laptop. I get very good FPS even on higher details.
