The DVD drive is fast for reading and writing and is particularly useful with the light scribe feature that was on mine.
Initially regretted paying the money, but am glad that i invested and when comparing with other makes that are slightly cheaper, am glad that I choose a HP. Still going strong and will for a few years to come

My first Laptop, and what a laptop it is. Bought it in December2007 as a replacement to a aging desktop. Shopped around and done a lot of research on the internet. The Laptop is packed with features and more than i will ever use. Has a built in video camera and mic. This has been a valid tool and useful for video conferencing. Only a low Mpix camera, but still has a good quality picture. The DVD drive is fast for reading and writing and is particularly useful with the light scribe feature that was on mine.
