Advantages: Quiet, light, fast
Disadvantages: microphone too sensitive
I use my laptop mostly for just everyday web browsing and word processing and this does the trick. My last laptop was a HP and that lasted for a good 4 years before it started showing some wear and tear, so I was happy enough to buy another HP. And it hasn't disappointed.
This laptop is quite light for its size, it's alright to take places (such as university in my case) since it may be light but it's also quite big. It is also very quiet, I can barely hear the fan even after it has been on for most of the day. The screen is crisp and DVDs look great. It doesn't have a Blu-ray drive (which will probably be standard in laptops in the near future) I find that disappointing since I don't always want to watch a Blu-ray on my television. The battery lasts anywhere between 2 and 4 hours depending on what I'm doing, so it's pretty good and the laptop charges very quickly.
I've played some games and they have run very well, but these were not top end, graphically heavy games. I don't know how the laptop would cope with running something like Skyrim on high settings.
I did experience some problems with the screen flickering after the laptop had been on for a long period of time in the first week I had it, but I have not seen any since then.
I think the microphone is slightly too sensitive, many internet calls to family and they can hear very quiet background noise. The camera and speakers are great quality however.
