Advantages: Screen, entertainment features are excellent
Disadvantages: Cleaning, HP service.
Choice_
I had recently seen this laptop advertised and it caught my eye, so I thought I would check it out. The spec seemed up to standard, and overall a decent laptop. I managed to pick it up for £600, which in my opinion was a good deal as PC world next door to Staples (where I purchased it) were charging £900. So I went away with a big smile and an extra £300 quid in my pocket. Result. Or maybe not?
Laptop_
With an 80G hard drive this notebook has plenty of storage, proving very hard to fill up. The processer is superb and the laptop runs at very high speeds, handling whatever I gave it. The entertainment features were a massive plus, giving me the freedom to watch films or play music expertly. The screen has a special brightview feature; basically it is brighter and clearer, which is actually noticable during use.
Ease of Use_
Right from setup the laptop was simple to use, everything set up under a half an hour. Once set up everything is straight forward with touch screen controls making everything even easier.
Problems_
I have only had a few problems with this particular product which was dissapointing. One problem is quite silly but I will mention it anyway, and that is the cleaning. The black outer cover gets dusty and picks up fingerprints incredibly easily. The other problem I had was a bit worse. To put it lightly: 'the laptop screwed itself over' for no apparent reason... twice. HP fixed it, which took surprisingly long. And then it broke once more. And guess what, took another month to be fixed. Great. Not looking so attractive now.
Summary: An excellent product and a shame it stopped working.
