Advantages: Work on move, Burn Cd's, Play DVD's
Disadvantages: not top of range
I am going to University this year, and I will need to do a hell of a lot of work. I will be travelling a lot to and from university and home as well. I thought to myself how can I combine the two and the idea of a laptop computer came to me. I wanted a cheap laptop which wasnt top of the range, but would satisfy all my needs. I was more than pleased with my buy! To start with this laptop looks cool. It is completely black all over and has better design features than DiVinci himself could come up with. It looks slick and stylish and with measurements of 31.3 cm x 25.4 cm x 3.9 cm and a weight of 2.7kg it is light and small. This makes it excellent for travelling with. You hardly notice it in your backpack. It has an Intel Celeron 2 Ghz which isn't too brilliant nowadays but satisfies all my needs of using broadband internet and writing essays and presentations. It has 256 mb of RAM also which again is not brillian but satisfies my needs. I can play certain modern games with excellent graphics as well which is a bonus to say the least. In terms of storage space the hard drive is 30Gb which is plenty, my desktop contains 10 Gb and this is pretty full. Should take me a while to fill up 30Gb. The optical device is a CD-rewriter / DVD ROM. This in easily udnerstandable terms means you can write your own CD's containing any information such as music files, or work which is too large to send over the internet efficiently. Also playing DVD's while on your travels is great! No more boring train journeys for me! An important factor in buying this was the sound quality available. I have download a lot of music and I enjoy listening to it while working. I was very impressed with the inbuilt speakers and they are more than adequate for my needs! The battery life is 2.1 hours which is pretty average for laptops nowadays. I have had it going for about 2 and a half hours though so it's a bit better than the manufacturer
says. It comes with inbuilt Microsoft XP containing all the usual software you would expect such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint e.t.c. 1 year warrantee also makes this a guaranteed buy making buying safe! I would recommend for all that need a laptop for business or study needs as it is perfect for these tasks. As for the high class gamers out there, get a more up to date system with faster processor and more RAM as it won't play all modern games. At £650 I think this was the best for me. A high quality laptop at a cheap price!! Enjoy
