Mother of all laptops (IBM Thinkpad T41)

Advantages: Has everything you want from a laptop, plus extras..

T41 is my office laptop, which came with all VPN and safeboot software installed for connecting to my office intranet. I always fancied thinkpad as it is the mother of all laptop in all aspects. The one I am using is Pentium M 1.6 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 40 GB HDD and running Windows XP on it.

The only thing I don't like in ThinkPad is that red trackball device, which I always found tricky to deal with. This T41 has that trackball as well as touch pad, so I am not complaining about it.
The T41 is one of the best looking laptops with everything you want from the laptop. Even if I try hard, I can't find a fault with it.

I will keep the review short and just list the features quickly..

-The screen resolution is perfect.
-The keyboard and touchpad is flawless.
-The BIOS is feature proof with USB boot option.
-The disk shock protection mechanism provided.
-The small LED desk light provided in the lid to lightup keyboard
-Processor speed is quite good even at 1.6 GHz
-Cooling system quite efficient as fan rarely go at full speed
-The inbuilt wireless card is very powerful
-Very sturdy and beautiful looking laptop.
-Lightweight with around 2.2 Kg.

Can't talk about battery life, as it is almost dead with 40minutes capacity of the full charge on my T41. But as I said, this is my office laptop and have been abused a lot by previous owners. I will get replacement battery soon.

Summary: If this would be a car, it has to be the Volkswagon Golf !!
