Advantages: Titanium covers, light, fast
Disadvantages: Burns a hole in your wallet, looks dull and black
First Thoughts Well, as I stared at the ThinkPad, my first thought was that this thing is pretty plain. After all, it was totally black and it looked nothing like the Sony VAIO. To tell you the truth, it looked like a cheap laptop. However, once I opened it, I “turned on the fun.” Processor The ThinkPad T20 is supported by an Intel Pentium III processor that has 750 Megahertz. In addition, it is also supported by Intel’s SpeedStep technology that also increased the speed of the ThinkPad’s processor. When opening files and documents, it was pretty quick unlike many other laptops. Memory With 128 MB of RAM, the ThinkPad T20 is quite impressive. Now you could have the power of a desktop in the size of a notebook. Screen With a 14.1” screen monitor, you shouldn’t worry about squinting. In addition, the text and desktop icons were large and easy to see. In addition, the resolution is very impressive. Hard Drive With about 12 Gigs of room, you shouldn’t worry about the lack of room. 12 GB is more than enough for the average person. However, if you are a businessmen or women, you should think about upgrading it. Storage In the ThinkPad T20, you get a DVD-ROM drive, which supports DVDs, software, and music CDs. The drive is quite small when you see it. Modem Like most PCs and laptops today, the ThinkPad T20 has a V.90/56K modem for all your communication and Internet use. Power For stock, IBM gives you a Lithium-Ion battery that gives up to 3.75 hours of battery life. With the length of this battery, it is perfect for business or travel use. Operating System The ThinkPad T20 is supported by Microsoft’s Windows 2000 Professional Second Edition. Weight Perhaps its most impressive feature is its weight. With titanium
composite covers for both the top and bottom, it is one of the lightest laptops in the PC industry. Now you won’t have to worry about straining your hand when carrying it for long periods of time. In addition, its ThinkLight keyboard also decreases its overall weight. After all, it is the keyboard and covers that make the majority of a laptop’s weight. Service IBM offers a 3-year warranty for the ThinkPad T20, which is pretty good. Looks As I've already mentioned, I think the laptop itself looks a bit dull, but if you like black it'll be your cup of tea. But I long for someone to follow Apple's example and give us a Windows based laptop which actually looks good. Other COOL features -For easy access to the Internet, the ThinkPad has the ThinkPad button. All it takes is a push of a button explore the web. -Its UltraPort connector allows the ThinkPad to support other hardware such as cameras, etc. As you can see, IBM has done an astounding job with the ThinkPad T20 and the rest of the T series. However, the titanium composite covers contribute to its high cost of £2200. However, if you are a businessmen or women, you will love this feature.
