IBM Thinkpad X31 2673 ... created an account on this web site mostly to complain about something else, and I wanted the karma to balance out, so here is a review of what I think is one of the best laptops ever. For background you should know that I can have my pick of laptops and would often update to the latest model every year. Well, for the last three+ years I ve stuck with my X31 and I ll continue for as long as it lasts. Note this is about the X31 in general, not specifically the 2673. IBM Thinkpad X30 ... bought an X30 second hand on ebay around 4 years ago and it is still going strong. The unit is very small and reasonably light. The battery is still the original, I think, and as it is so old it struggles to hold charge but I can still get over an hour out of it. I use the computer for the internet really and it does a great job. I also use it for office applications however, more recent versions are starting to run a bit slowly. The major drawback is the lack of any disk or cd drive. I have found it nearly impossible to get new programs onto the laptop or restore old ones following an inevitable virus.
