Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: what you pay is what you get
I purchased a Topnote H a year and a half ago from IPC and was very happy with it, until the screen started to flicker. It went back to the company in two ocassions without any improvement. Recently (while the warranty is just out), I attempted an upgrade. The laptop was booked in for upgrade a week ahead of the time it was picked up. The upgrade was promised to take no more than 4 working days. As it turned out, they were out of parts and didn't even bother to inform us. After 7 working days, I received the laptop back with the parts to follow in a separate shipment the day after. When attempting to put the parts together, I discovered that the memory I recevied was incompatible with the BIOS. After another attempt to remedy the situation (and three work days without the laptop), the company returned the laptop in its original condition, claiming that they didn't see the faulty memory in the box (even thought it was taped to the laptop). 10 working days and such a simple situation was not rectified. To me that amounts to 'unprofessional' service. For this reason, and given our experience with the poor customer service, we dimmed their services not worth investing in.
