Premium Review IPC WebStar is a Star  (241 words)
by - written on 09/07/03 (Useful, 219 readings)
Rating:

I bought my IPC WebStar laptop from a local computer store about a year ago and I?m happy to report I?ve never had a problem with it. Because my unit had a really high spec when I bought it I?m still able to play the latest games with it?s ATI card which is not the case with my brother who opted for a brand name unit at a lower spec. The ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review IPC Notebooks in general: IPC Powernote M (233 words)
by - written on 02/07/03 (Useful, 224 readings)
Rating:

I?m an owner of an IPC PowerNote M . I purchased my laptop about 4 months ago for about £750 brand new which I admit made me a bit suspect at first? I had little choice however as my budget would not stretch to ?main stream? brand and even when I did find a Dell or a Compaq I could afford, the spec was poor in comparison to the IPC. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review I took a risk and it paid off  (266 words)
by - written on 11/03/03 (Very useful, 454 readings)
Rating:

Its really weird reading through some of less favourable reviews for IPC because my experience of them has been nothing short of excellent. To cut a long store short about 10 months ago I purchased my WebStar from an IPC dealer not really knowing who IPC were but finding myself attracted by the best specification for my budget. ...  Read the complete review

Rating:

With double glazing you might bet a 10 or 25 year warranty - GREAT, eh ? Until the firm go out of business and you find the warranty is not insurance backed. Such a mistake is of course, the consumer's So its completely my fault that my IPC AMD2000 laptop (£749+vat) that comes with an ostensibly generous COLLECT and return 12 mth ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Why do we have consumer web sites - IPC are one reason. (451 words)
by - written on 05/03/03 (Somewhat useful, 392 readings)
Rating:

If you pay £1000 for a laptop but you can only use it for 10 months in the first 12 then I reckon it should cost £833. Looking at IPC reviews after the event I realise how useful sites like dooyoo are to help consumers. There are several reports of IPC warranty repair turn around times of 30 and 60 days - perhaps this depends ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review IPC Notebooks in general: IPC - unprofessional service (218 words)
by - written on 15/01/03 (Somewhat useful, 336 readings)
Rating:

I purchased a Topnote H a year and a half ago from IPC and was very happy with it, until the screen started to flicker. It went back to the company in two ocassions without any improvement. Recently (while the warranty is just out), I attempted an upgrade. The laptop was booked in for upgrade a week ahead of the time it was picked up. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review IPC Magicnote F (132 words)
by - written on 24/05/02 (Useful, 610 readings)
Rating:

I bought an IPC Magicnote F almost a year ago. It was significantly cheaper than similar products from other companies. However, now I know that I would have rather bought a little bit more expensive but more reliable notebook. Problems with the Magicnote F: 1. I could not install Windows 2000 on it, the display resolution was at best 640x480 ...  Read the complete review

by - written on 09/03/01 (Useful, 670 readings)

I have recently bought my new IPC notebook from Staples. The spec was: 800MHz Pentium III 20GB HDD, 128MB SDRAM, 8MB Graphics, 8 speed DVD Infra red port, 1 USB port, LAN port Its a metallic blue colour- something a bit different, but might appear "girlie". I was really comparing to PC World, I ...  Read the complete review
