When I bought this laptop, Lenovo had only recently taken over the laptop / netbook arm of IBM, and having owned IBM laptops in the past, I was hoping the expertise had also been passed over to the take over company. Fortunately, in my experience with this laptop, it most certainly has been. The main selling points for me in a laptop are not processor speed, hard drive size, amount of RAM etc, but more the build quality, durability and an often overlooked feature (but the most important!): the keyboard. This laptop excels in all of those departments and far exceeded my expectations for what was a very good value laptop. The screen hinges, following on from IBM's original ThinkPad sturdiness, are very hardwearing and just the right stiffness to secure your screen firmly in place and don't ever feel like breaking to be honest. The keyboard has relatively large keys with good tactile feedback, making this laptop very easy to type on. My particular model is equipped with a fingerprint reader, which is also excellent. Overall, this was money very well spent and I expect this laptop to last a lot longer than the 2 and half years it has already been in regular use! Battery life is more than adequate for a laptop in this price band, and has aged well with many charges.
