Advantages: good value, great performance and well designed
Disadvantages: hard to clean the dust out so it can get noisy after several months use
This is a great gaming laptop and fantastic value for money.
It looks good too, which a glossy black finish (although it will soon be riddled with finger prints if you're not careful). The screen is good, and fairly bright, with a decent viewing angle.
The built-in sound is adequate, although it does tend to distort at high volume. Plug some decent headphones in though and this laptop can provide fantastic 3D sound.
Gaming performance is excellent, with good frame rates thanks to the dedicated graphics adaptor combined with the dual-core processor and generous dollop of RAM.
Hard drive performance is ok, but decidedly average. The capacity is great though, with plenty of room for games, music and videos.
The laptop is well designed, with plenty of USB ports (2 on each side) and other connectivity - most notably an HDMI port which means you can connect the laptop to an HD TV and use it to play HD content (it doesn't read Blu-Ray or HD-DVD though).
The keyboard is quite comfortable, and unlike many other laptops includes a full numeric keypad and sensibly placed cursor keys.
The built in touchpad is a bit of a disappointment, and is easily touched by accident while typing, but disable it and plug a mouse in and this problem disappears.
The built in webcam is handy, and perfectly adequate.
I found this laptop ran very quietly at first, but as it got more dusty it became quite noisy, and it is very hard to clean properly.
Summary: Good value gaming laptop
