... Sony VAIO GRT716S was the first laptop I owned and bought some 5 years ago now and its still running fine. Overall, its fairly sturdy - desk height falls didn t do harm to it and it was also easy to keep clean. Speedwise, with optimization, it hardly ever crashed on any software for me when other people reported constant crashes on their different systems, so I would believe the components were of high quality.... Sony Vaio K115M ... had this laptop for a good number of years now and it s still working like new. I have never had a problem with this computer, other than windows deciding to play up a few times. Yes it is out of date by today s specs so it won t be able to run your latest games but for rock solid reliability I cannot fault this machine. Its survived drops, knocks and falling off my lap many times but I still use this laptop as my main computer. After all this time the only fault it has is that some of the keys are going slightly shiny with use. Toshiba Satellite 2430-402 ... to use and the mouse pad is good as it is very smooth and never sticks unlike some more modern laptops i have tried. The screen is a good size, it is not glossy but it is very bright and good for watching movies, it is not widesceen though. The internals are good, it runs on Windows XP Home edition and has a 40GB hard drive and Intel Pentium 4 processor meaning the laptop is fast and suitable for a lot of applications. Its not a great gaming laptop, but i have played quite a gew games like The Sims and Roller Coaster Tycoon and they all play fine, it does not like the Sims 2 that much though so its not good for newer games.
