Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D1840 ... bought my Amilo 2 years ago and i have to say that it is has been a good servant. Video- editing, i- net surfing music .. everything happens fast and quite reliable. Sometimes, when i strain laptop during editing or rendering it freezes becouse over heating..lift laptop higher. Battery last only 20 -30 minutes and sometimes that is really annoyign, becouse when u just get in to work, you have to stop. Still in these days it is still quite quick and good machine. Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D6800 ... the video card went on the blink. One can barely see the screen when running on battery, so its lived most of its life "off the mains" (a PC can do that). Some months ago I tried to find a new role for it at home - as an internet server, so I purchased the appropriate PCMCIA card to surf the web at a snail's crawl, having decided to sever my jacked-up ADSL umbilical cord with the lousy landline telephone service provider. The Amilo D's network hardware doesn't work; installed and reinstalled drivers, so I cannot link it to my PC via Cat 5 or wireless. Compaq EVO N800V ... them at will. For general work such as word processing and the like, there were no issues what so ever and ran fine. At the start of its life the battery ran for a good 3 hours and continued to hold charge after 3 years(daily charging) of cycles. Naturally it's full charge fell with time however even then it still had a 2 hour capacity. It has a tough construction, over the time I have owned it, it has been dropped, splashed, burnt and dropped some more. Still it continued to function after 3 years of service until it finally did end when tea was spilt on it (oops).
