... seem to be any BIOS settings that would improve the situation and no BIOS updates have ever been issued by Fujitsu-Siemens for this model, that I am aware of.
The power management never worked properly at all and the machine would not resume from hibernation or standby and had to be manually re-booted each time. Sony Vaio GRT895MP ... form solely posititve things with this laptop. It has never lat me down, there was no single breakdown or even slight hardware or sony software problem. Strong performance of 2.7ghz processor is backed up by reasonable amount of RAM memory (512mb). From my personal experience it was enough for all the applications I was running on this computer. High resolution screen is also a perk, very nice to watch DVDs and videos on it. Another thing I really liked about this laptop is the feel you get from the keyboard - nicely firm but at the same time very responsive. On the downside, speakers are kind of pathetic. Acer Aspire 1601LC ... model. * Instruction Manual * This may be a personal flaw, but when I picked up this manual, I found it extremely boring and unfriendly. It was well organised however, but I had to just put it down before I fell asleep. I always think, unless you are going in to sophisticated settings, that its always better to just do it yourself (unless your a little techno phobic). I said to my mother, who doesn?t know anything about computers, what do you think of this manual. And to her, she found it confusing, and well too complicated for her usability. FSC Amilo L ... watching a dvd, And i find the keyboard feels like it is just overlayed and not quite integral, but works fine. Oh and the biggest niggle about any computer brought from a high street is the pre-installed software you cant get rid of !!!! drives me mad. Aol, tiscali, blah blah blah.
