Sony Vaio GRT716S ... processor is kept cool. When I saw that the Sony Vaio GRT716S had a desktop processor I was somewhat put off but as I?m not really that bothered by fan noise I didn?t consider it to be that much of an issue. Having used my GRT716S for prolonged periods of time I can confirm that after about an hour of use the fan will kick in (earlier if you are playing graphics intensive games) and runs pretty much continuously for the rest of the time you are u sing the notebook. Samsung V25 XVC 2533 ... both DVD's and CD's, which is certainly a very useful feature. There's no floppy drive on this laptop, although there is space to add your own should you wish, however, as you can write to CD's and DVD's then I certainly don't miss the presence of the floppy drive. I know very little about graphics cards and the likes within PC's, but I can tell you this includes the Intel Extreme graphics card up to 64mb. Unfortunately this means nothing to me, but as it's managed to show all the graphics I've needed it to show I can't fault it. FSC Amilo L ... first ever laptop. I opted for the 2.4Ghz version. Battery expectancy, according to the blurb is 4hrs, in actuality, I got a max of 45minutes, while editing a word document. I am really disappointed in the battery life, especially when I am due to take a seven hour flight to Canada soon. The tft display is really crisp and bright, Im stunned by it. It comes with WindowsXP Home, I would have preferred XP Pro. It doesnt come with a full install disk, only a "OEM Recovery Disk", so Im more than a little disappointed by that too. ...
