Toshiba Satellite 4100XCDT ... have still got one of these great robust laptops from the good old days. The screen provides a good quality bright image, which works well outdoors. I have been running linux on this laptop as firstly its free and you can tailor the operating system to run quick and efficiently on a laptop like this one which only has a pentium 2 processor. when I got the laptop it came with windows 98 second edition, this was and still is one of the best and easiest to use operating systems still running. The keyboard is very easy to use, keys respond well to even the lightest touch, this may be a bad thing to some people who are used to heavy handed typing, but I prefer the light touc... Toshiba Satellite 4010CDT ... this laptop off Ebay about 2 months ago. It was still installed with windows 98 (Amazing operating system) when i got it. It had an upgrade from 32MB to 128MB of RAM (only 96MB shown due to 32MB being used as built in graphics. I was after a further upgrade but unfortunately seeing as there is only one bay and the max RAM is a curios 160MB there really is no point. Windows 98 boots in about 28 seconds and i am also running macromedia fireworks, dreamweaver, flash, and coldfusion MX 2004 on it with Microsoft Office XP also. Reallly this machine is a large unit. IBM Thinkpad 600 ... I own an IBM Thinkpad 600 - and I think it is brilliant and am very pleased with it. If you need a one line summary: Go buy one! I am writting this with the intention that someone may buy it second hand (since I don't think IBM sells this model anymore) LCD - Brilliant - no problems. Remember if you have to replace the LCD it is very costly! So check before you buy. Apparently it is easy to swap them with another one! Keyboard - Okay It can be connected with an external keyboard.
