arfannazar Dell Latitude C610: ... great quality robust laptop which stands the test of time. I had the dell latitude c640 which is the pentium 4m model of this brilliant line of laptops. it runs great, the sxga+ display worked very well wh...

Suggins IBM Thinkpad X30
... bought an X30 second hand on ebay around 4 years ago and it is still going strong. The unit is very small and reasonably light. The battery is still the original, I think, and as it is so old it struggles to hold charge but I can still get over an hour out of it. I use the computer for the internet really and it does a great job. I also use it for office applications however, more recent versions are starting to run a bit slowly. The major drawback is the lack of any disk or cd drive. I have found it nearly impossible to get new programs onto the laptop or restore old ones following an inevitable virus. To my mind this is the near perfect internet surfing machine bu...

Luke IBM Thinkpad 600X
... ibm thinkpad 600x is a truly great machine. Even in 2009, the thinkpad still preforms well with its maxium 512mb ram. I can internet browse, instant message, and listen to a cd all at the same time. The 500mhz processor keeps up with most applications. The build quality is great, and it feels like new even after 10 years. I also own a dell that is a few years newer, but it feels flimsy and cheap compared to this. The small size is good for slipping in a backpack, but the screen is still big enough that you never have to squint. Windows xp runs well on this machine. They go for fairly cheap on e-bay, so it s a great alternative to the many tiny notebooks that they are ...

scoobydoo13 Toshiba Satellite Pro 4340
... one is very easy to rate, this thing absolutely sucks! First of all, it has a pentium proccessor 3, which means windows 95 or 98 which is very very very out dated, pretty much, you want the pentium processor 4 with windows xp, or vista. If you don t have a lot of experience in computers and would rather customize a computer to be pimped out, you want windows xp. If you want one for internet and homework and such, window vista is more for you. 64 mega Bites of RAM is horrible! You want 3 or 4 Giga bites. 4 giga bites is 7 to 8 times bigger. Also Ram is how fast your computer runs. And the Hard Drive is 10 Giga Bites..... 10! you can t even download microsoft ...
