The IBM 600x is one of the slimmer laptops and is suitable for frequent travellers wh... Read the full review: Truly Excellent!! by |

Sony Vaio PCG GR414SK ... have been using this Sony as my primary computer for over a year now and it is the best laptop that I have ever had. Granted, it was really only in the last two years that laptop users could have enough power, features and storage to not feel like the poor relation to the desktop PC (and I have not used any other laptops in the last 2 years so keep this in mind) but I am pretty pleased with it. Let me explain why. In the last 15 months, this Vaio has been in use almost every single day. It gets slung in the back of my car for the commute to work, it has been knocked off my desk twice, done 5 return trips to the US and been used for everything that I can throw at it -... Sony Vaio F707 ... had one of the first Vaio's - I know this because the serial number on the battery was 000000020! For 12 months, I was one of the smuggest laptop users around. It was beautifully finished in mauve and metallic finish grey. It had a 14.1" TFT screen, function buttons for sleep, powersave etc., inbuilt modem, DVD ROM, and even an i-Link port, which is fantastic for connecting up digital camcorders (see my other reviews!). It even came preloaded with a whole a... Read the full review: Superb Sony technology, but not Sony quality by 137699 |

Sony Vaio FX105K ... this computer as a replacement for my aging 486. I have been pleased with it so far. It runs reliably, the screen is a decent size and the DVD drive lets me watch DVD films when I should be doing something useful. Installed Mandrake linux 9.0 onto it, be careful however as the linux bootloader conflicts with xp, and the hard drive will not boot. I would recommend using system commander as a bootloader. Linux installed without hassle and found most of the hardware. I am having trouble installing modem drivers in both xp and linux. ... Read the full review: A good buy by blueskies |
