Sony Vaio Z600TEK ... given a Sony Vaio is like aquiring a work of art. Design as well as functionality is at the heart of the Vaio. The Z600TEK is a master of the functionality within the smallest area possible. The array of connection options allow this to be a workhorse of any notebook arena. Connections for memorystick, firewire, usb, serial, parallel, LAN (internal) and modem (internal) allow connection and interoperability all through the world. With a good battery (lasts 1.5hrs) and a crystal screen this laptop runs Windows 2000 fast and solid. Good storage (20GB) only let down by external floppy and CD. Toshiba Satellite Pro 4340 ... Laptop Satalitte Pro 4320SE As the owner of a new Toshiba Satalitte Pro 4320SE Laptop I feel I should boast how impressed I am with it (and Toshiba). It works fine, is great, the sales service and support from Toshiba has been brilliant (unlike other experiences, especially with Packard Bell). I have never had any problems with it, although I have phoned Toshiba Technical Support twice, once when setting it up and again when I had a few problems with the DVD player on it. Both times they fixed the problem promptly over the phone (the first time they had to phone me back about half an hour later as it was a brand new model and they needed to check something!).... Compaq Armada E500 ... had an upgrade in work to the Compaq Armada E500 and I was really looking forward to its arrival as the Compaq has quite a good name. The first thing that struck me was how slim the notebook is at only 1.6 inches thick. The only thing then is that you think its light but at 5.7 pounds you know you have it in your hands. With a 15 inch screen I thought it would be a strain on the eyes but no its quite adequate and the resolution is great given by a AGP 2X graphics with 8 Mb Sdram. When fully charged the battery life is three and a half hours, which is, more than long enough for meetings etc. Although the notebook has 128mb of ram I find it very slow in booting e...
