	Toshiba Satellite Pro L10 ... purchased two Toshiba Pro L10 laptops a couple of months ago and have been very pleased with them.Overall they are very good value for money and are ideal for your first time laptop user ie students etc. The Toshiba Pro L10 is light and easy to carry about only the recharger unit is a bit difficult to carry about as its a combi voltage regulator box and cable affair and its liable to get kicked or tripped over!! 	Sony Vaio FS215B ... bought a Sony VAIO laptop for £1,350 in 2003 having chosen the machine mainly for its large, high-resolution screen (16inch, 1600 x 1200) and in the belief that Sony laptops were some of the most reliable on the market. However, when the computer was just over 14 months old (not quite three months out of warranty), the keyboard failed completely, and I had to purchase an external USB keyboard to be able to continue using it. I wrote to Sony, arguing that such a major fault was unacceptable, and asked them to repair the product at their own expense. 	IBM Thinkpad R51 2888 ... The main thing that I look for is a good high quality resolution. Problem is that you have top balance this against cost. The R51 1829 was the one for me. It has now seen end of life as we know it, replaced by an R52 version. To start with the R51 cost around £1100 to but.
