I review this as someone whose knowledge of computer's is not strong, so my impressions are entirely opinion based and not on numbers. The laptop runs Vista but can be updated to 7. Fairly lightweight and small for a laptop (I've seen far bigger) means that I have taken this to school and all around the house to use. The battery life is fairly impressive at just over a couple of hours, and the laptop is fairly fast until you clog it up with lots of stuff on your hard drive. However, my dad has since put in some new RAM (?) which has made it a lot faster, he tells me this was easy to do.
